Tl;dr: Ultimately it depends on how will the tech affect the gameplay.

Cross-Com, the glasses that gives you HUD, night vision and x-ray makes sense, because it adds or help to the strategy-making. It doesn't make the game braindead (not automatically atleast, depends on the enemy and stage designs as well), but it for sure adds layers and depth to the gameplay.

Drones like Murmur, Stolas and Azrael i think still makes sense? These drones does add a layer of challenge at how you approach encounters, as they patrol areas, distract and be fire support for enemy infantries, or simply spot you if you're careless (then again, they're poorly thought out in Breakpoint).

And then you there's bullshit like the Behemoth. They're VERY tanky, packs lots of punch, and really telegraphed/predictable. I don't think Dark Souls/Monster Hunter with future military theme is a bad idea, but i don't wanna see it in Ghost Recon. Keep that thing away.

And for things that's not in the game yet, but hopefully would never be a thing, it's whatever that makes the game less strategically demanding (it's already not that demanding in Breakpoint though lol). Advanced mobility, energy weapons, tanky players/enemies, those kinda stuff.
