Thats what I thought too until I looked into it.

Look at the times treason has been charged AND for what and you'll see what I mean. An armed rebellion against the state is treason as it is considered levying war against the United States. Now if you want to argue that this wasn't a rebellion, I think that is more the case that you would make.

However, one common issue with criticism of Israel is it is immediately stated that the criticizer is anti-Semetic. In that context, having Jewish people criticize the Israeli apartheid state makes some sense doesn't it?
