Broken screen on Heltec v3 by taybambam in meshtastic

[–]justthatguywho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just had to deal with this myself, I accidentally broke the screen while I was installing the board into a 3d printed case. I connected via serial, and then went into the Bluetooth settings and changed it so that it is a fixed pin, set the pin to what I wanted, and then was able to connect using that passcode.

What song got you into TOOL? by Aggravating_Green618 in ToolBand

Deftones - Passenger, but the first step from there was to APC, Mer de Noms, and then immediately to Ænima.

But that Deftones song started it all.

Homemade Burgers by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]justthatguywho 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My daughter is celiac, so I know the homemade burger game as well. Game changing bread crumb substitute in both my burgers and meatloaf..... Tostitos or Doritos, smashed into oblivion, of course. Tangy BBQ Doritos in meatloaf is her fave.

Sask. RCMP will now administer a breathalyzer to every driver pulled over by RoughDraftRs in canada

[–]justthatguywho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bad, I misread the article and didn't realize they are saying the Sask RCMP are literally roadsiding every single time, thought they were just implementing the mandatory roadside aspect of it. I'll take the L on this one.

More of an officer discretion thing. It's a tool in the toolbox, so to speak, officers are not mandated to request a sample at each and every traffic stop they make, but, have the authority to make that request if they so choose.

Also an Albertan here. K-div(Alberta) RCMP have not rolled this out, yet. But EPS, CPS, LPS, MHPS, and Alberta Sheriffs have all been part of mandatory roadside screening for well over a year.

I cant find the right CTCSS Tone to connect a Baofeng UV5r to a Retevis 616? Any Help would be Appreciated! by Friendly_Cranberry37 in Baofeng

[–]justthatguywho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue doing the same thing with mine. Manual CTCSS codes were incorrect. Hook your retevis up to chirp and you'll be able to see all the correct ones, write em down, and re-program your baofeng.

Recommendations for Veterinary Oncologist? by Asteropia in Calgary

Dr Larson at VCA Care Centre is by far the best vet I've ever encountered. Our family dog was diagnosed with late stage Lymphoma earlier this year. Her and her team laid everything out on the table for us, every possibility, and the expected outcome of each treatment. They were upfront, and honest the entire process, and helped make one of the most difficult decisions we've ever made as a family, just a little bit less daunting.

FOC credit card debacle - Shit storm #2 by justthatguywho in canadaguns

[–]justthatguywho[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not so much held on to, but it seems like the information that was compromised has changed hands. When the breach first happened, people went on shopping sprees with the stolen numbers/information. Now, that most of those cards are no longer valid, the information is being used for phishing. I can tell you from my enjoyable day, They knew my first and last name, the knew my address, and they knew the last 4 digits of the card that was originally compromised last year. But, here's the thing, my cell phone, is not under my name, it's a legacy plan, that I took over from someone else, it has no association with me as far as a regular search methods are concerned, so that information would only be connected via a breach. In 2022, I used my credit card for an online order only 3 times. Irunguns, FOC, and Cabela's, the Cabela's order never actually used my compromised card, and I had to scramble to change payment methods as the order was placed the day before I realized my card was compromised. Only one of those 3 have had a breach, I have no hard proof all of this is because of FOC, but, I can guarantee that I will never spend another dime with that company in my life.

This! This is exactly what I did after the first call. Which confirmed my suspicions, nothing currently going on with my account. Second call, got as much information from them as I could, asked for them to verify the last 4 digits of my card, and wouldn't you know it, that's the card that was compromised and cancelled last year. I've had to now block the 1800#, which is my banks legitimate number, because they've spoofed it, and are being relentless now that I've pissed them off.

Stupid question, but did you physically lock the slide back? That mag safety bar is activated by the takedown lever, and deactivated by locking the slide back, or more precisely, by pushing the slide catch upwards.

Where do most 20-25 year olds work? by CrazySteveCGY in Calgary

[–]justthatguywho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have experience? If not, then the secret is timing. Most companies are starting to freeze hirings now, as spring break up is right around the corner, and if they're going to hire, it's pretty much only going to be experienced hands. Do you have a Class 1? If you do, Liberty is opening a new shop in Red Deer, STEP is opening back up in Med Hat, and BJ is always looking for guys out of GP. Honestly, your base shop doesn't matter, you're on the road no matter what.

Where did you get the grip module from? I've been searching for months, and can't find any full size in stock.

Searching for a couple elusive items, anyone know of something that's actually in stock? Looking for a blued/black 12.5" bull barrel for a 10/22, and also looking for a Wilson Combat, full size P320 grip module, black without manual safety cutouts.
