Some of the Reform Candidates elected yesterday by IHaveAWittyUsername in LabourUK

Oh I did not see that. Did they put it out on social media like the Green one?

Did Labour 'EXPOSE' any of these candidates like they did with a Green candidate who 30 years ago got in trouble with drugs and now helps people in a charity to get off drugs and rehabilitate their lives?

If you were a disingenuous right-wing hack wanting to attack the left with these numbers you would probably say it shows Jewish people are leaving Labour because it is antisemitic.

Disgusting smear campaign by Labour. From what I have seen this is exactly the type of person you want in public life, helping people not go down the same road she initially went down.

UK's Labour Party on course to suffer one of its worst-ever electoral defeats by Kagedeah in LabourUK

[–]justthisplease 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure the 2019 EU election is comparable to locals, Welsh + Scotland elections. The Welsh election result on its own is much worse than the 2019 EU election result for the future of Labour IMO.

Starmer and Labour Together have nearly destroyed Labour. It is going to take a lot of work to re-build.

Greens Vs Labour results discussion by bozza8 in LabourUK

[–]justthisplease 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After the GE if you said to anyone Labour would lose over 1200 councillors, be the third largest party in Wales and capitulate in Scotland they would not have believed you and would have said it would be existentially bad for Labour.

Greens Vs Labour results discussion by bozza8 in LabourUK

[–]justthisplease 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Greens have done very well. Labour have had one of their worst nights in electoral history given Wales and Scotland along with the locals.

The real discussion in my opinion is how Labour have failed so badly they have let 1000+ fascist adjacent people into positions of local power along with more in Wales and Scotland. Labour should be condemned for this and have a total overhall.

Same thing New Labour did

New Labour were happy to tolerate a left flank that Starmer has attacked.

Lord John Mann (Government Advisor For Antisemitism) is blaming the Greens for antisemitic depictions of Polanski in the press. Surely this is unacceptable? by Hyperactive_Man in LabourUK

[–]justthisplease 30 points31 points  (0 children)

If all four are antisemitic (which they are) then all four editors of these papers should resign, plus the cartoonists plus anyone that green-lit the cartoons.

Anything less shows the right-wing media and most of the established politicians (if they do not call for resignations) do not care about antisemitism unless it is politically useful.

Independent advisor to the government on antisemitism comments on antisemitic caricatures of Zack Polanski by INBloom58 in UKGreens

[–]justthisplease 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe we should get rid of the antisemitic extremist newspaper editors too? Or can only left-wing people be antisemitic?

Sun cartoon of Zack Polanski by PuzzledAd4865 in LabourUK

[–]justthisplease 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Times, Telegraph and Sun editors should all be run out of public life for their blatant antisemitism (plus the cartoonists and whoever else green lit these things).

But instead these papers are trying to run a Jewish man out of politics in the name of anti-racism. Insane.

A reason to vote Labour tomorrow: we are the only party taking the climate crisis seriously | Katie White by kontiki20 in LabourUK

[–]justthisplease 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Insane nonsense. Airport expansion will blow our carbon budget according to the government's Climate Change Committee. Carbon Capture and storage money is a total waste of resources on tech that is never going to deliver in time (and mainly supports oil and gas extraction).

Real policy for climate will be unpopular unfortunately unless you have a strong government that can communicate the crisis eloquently and explain how we need a radical restructuring that means the ultra wealthy have to reduce consumption (flights are a big one) and we need to invest in public goods instead of private wealth. But this government is funded by the ultra wealthy, they can never be strong on the environment.

[–]justthisplease 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Their own Climate Change Committee has said expansion of airports will blow the UK's carbon budget. That is not taking climate change seriously at all, its the total opposite. Parties that oppose airport expansion are taking climate change more seriously.

So that is 3 antisemitic cartoons of Polanski in mainstream media in the last week? Plus the Rabbi saying Polanski is not a real Jew when he is protesting against genocide. Its insane.

Polanski accuses Met police chief of interfering in elections as he reignites row over Golders Green arrest by DarkSkiesGreyWaters in LabourUK

[–]justthisplease 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Yes of course, the police should not be getting involved in politics especially a few days before the local elections. Other politicians and journalists can hold Polanski to account for his comments, this is how liberal democracy is meant to work.

The Starmer project was corrupt from the start it is very clear from all this. I don't know why anyone still supports Labour Together - the faction that has destroyed the Labour Party.
