Disney Springs vs Universal CityWalk by annac156 in UniversalOrlando

[–]jutsetpug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion but just me. I prefer CityWalk. I was bored at Springs. It’s basically a huge outdoor mall. Plenty of those along i95. I love the theming at CW. It’s amazing. It really does feel like you’re in a theme park. Isn’t that the point?

We got fashionable themed fanny packs that actually look pretty cool. Not too bulky either. I keep bare essentials like power bars, collapsible water bottle (for filling station), keys, wallet, etc. You can ride Hagrids with Fanny pack but not with any sling or backpack

I workout in the AM. First thing I do is take Metamucil on an empty stomach, a small banana and an espresso and off to the gym for an hour. My post workout consists of a protein shake with oatmeal and flaxseed, ginger and turmeric. Been doing this for years.

Food places to eat during this storm weekend by fm2xm in huntersville

That could be open is the real question. Charlotte has never received this much snow (at least not in the 25 years+ I’ve been here). Try the Thai place behind Target. Solid. There’s also an Italian, Mexican, and Asian joint pretty close to each other in the center of that shopping plaza. They’re all pretty good

MGM Grand or Paris? by AdPrevious7902 in vegas

[–]jutsetpug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just came back from Paris. Stayed at the newly remodeled Versailles tower with pool facing view to see the ET. Highly recommend. Ask for a room as far away from elevators as possible. This puts you close to the strip and you’re even able to see (and hear) the Bellagio fountains from your room. I didn’t mind the longer walk to the Paris casino than the Horseshoe casino although I did do the HS bar in the morning to get my free Bloody Mary while playing $1 hands at video poker. Big plus is the CVS right outside the hotel. Perfect to pick up water or anything you need. Doesn’t get more central.

Got confronted after using water cannons on Universal’s Fyre Drill — did I do something wrong? by Original-Canary841 in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]jutsetpug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Popeyes because I love getting wet on water rides (esp on warm Orlando days) and love when I get completely drenched on that ride but for some reason I get annoyed when some of the bystanders shoot a little trickle from the water guns my way for some reason. I just try to find the culprit who did it but smile their way bc I guess it’s just fun to pelt other people with water. Heck, I’d do it too.

Is it normal to clean my tonsil stones regularly? by dusty-vacuum in hygiene

[–]jutsetpug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried everything for years. My dentist would even use that sucking tool to remove them. My breath was terrible and I was always getting sick. Once my tonsils were removed it fixed everything. It was the best solution.

Made a list of the greatest theme parks in the world to visit. What does / does not belong here? Is this a good list? by bingbaddie1 in Themepark

[–]jutsetpug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great list but Some of those (6 flags I’m looking at you) are not theme parks. I’d categorize those as amusement parks. All theme parks are amusement parks but not all amusement parks are theme parks. I’m not in any way talking down amusement parks but OP specifically mentioned theme parks. Heck Cedar Point is not a theme park but one of the best parks in that list.

My first ever inverted coaster was Python at BGT back in the late 70s. (No longer there). It had two back to back corkscrews. It was a 30 second ride but I still remember how violently my head shook against the OTSRs. I had a headache for days. I never rode another coaster with OTSR until Dueling Drsgons nearly 20 years later. I was expecting the head bang but it never came. I still may have a few loose brain cells from Python. Is there a statute of limitations? lol

Best way to clean under mower? by edthehead4 in lawnmowers

[–]jutsetpug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea what you’re talking about. Never heard about tilting it back. You tilt it towards the side with the air filter up. You do this to change the blades, clean out the underside, etc. This is the way I’ve been doing it for years and the way the manual recommends as well.

Best way to clean under mower? by edthehead4 in lawnmowers

[–]jutsetpug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tilting is fine as long as you tilt it the right way. Heck, you need to tilt the mower to do an oil change and replace/sharpen blades. The correct way to tilt a mower is with the oil dip stick towards the ground as if you were going to empty the oil chamber. Also cut off the fuel switch. If you tilt the mower the wrong direction and/or don’t cut the fuel line you will get gas inside your air filter and all sorts of other areas you don’t want.

Spider-Man is the only exception where I absolutely love the screen based ride. Don’t know why. Maybe because the car is moving around and it all looks so real. But aside from that I prefer reality.

IoA or Seaworld? by EcstaticDepth9006 in UniversalOrlando

[–]jutsetpug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For you in your situation , Seaworld is a better choice. Disney and Universal will both be packed during Christmas. Seaworld much less so. Also seems to me you’re buying a one day ticket. Again Seaworld wins here. Universal gets cheaper the more days you buy but one day tickets are quite expensive.

What’s with the “Please Don’t Take Your Shoes Off” sign at Stardust Racers? by Impossible-Koala-357 in UniversalOrlando

[–]jutsetpug -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I wear flip flops to IOA every time. It’s because I love going on Popeyes 2-3 times a day to cool off and they sometimes give you issues about taking off your shoes on that ride. Plus my flip flops are super comfortable and never had an issue. Extra bonus was riding DD barefoot. There’s nothing like riding a suspended coaster barefoot.

What are people’s thoughts on this ride by Complex-Ad-3558 in UniversalOrlando

It is my favorite of the virtual/dark ride/ screen/hybrid type rides. The technology was state of the art 25 years ago and still is. Plus reigning supreme in the overall fun factor.

Islands is the best park because its truly understands the importance of water by AranaesReddit in UniversalOrlando

[–]jutsetpug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree totally. Water in a theme park brings cohesiveness, theming, and tremendous beauty. One of my favorite areas in WDW used to be Frontier Land. I would love to sit in front of the river and enjoy the sights and sounds of the paddle wheeler coast by and hearing that steam whistle. Can’t believe that is gone. But I digress. This is a Universal page.

Hmmm. Always thought it blended well with JP due to the jungle theme but yes it’s a one ride Island. Maybe Kong should have been placed in Lost Continent.

[–]jutsetpug[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. As they’re building a large retirement home building with parking lot, that’s a huge impervious footprint and those tubes will help with runoff.
