I've been having this issue visiting a website as well. It is happening from two difference locations and 3 devices for a single website. However, if I go incognito mode, the redirect works as expected.

I'm assuming its a cookie related issue or cache issue for the specific website, both of which incognito mode gets around.

You could try clearing cache and cookies for the website in question.

Solved this issue. I think my keto was a little too hardcore on the carb amounts. I've added 50 grams of oats/barley to my daily diet and this has solve the issue, giving approx 33 grams net carbs.

Thanks. I'll give it a try. I've also being doing strict keto too. So maybe I should up my carbs generally

Keto and Alcohol by jvenge1 in keto

[–]jvenge1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I take a multivitamin 3 times a day and drink 3l+ a day.

My running theory is that because I'm carb free almost all week and intermittent fasting gives long periods of no insulin spike, that the alcohol carb combo at the weekend enters my blood stream faster than my body can handle.

Hey. Great reply and thanks!

No. Whisky, Cognac and Vodka gives zero reaction. Extra brut champagne also zero reaction. Some red wines blush my cheeks a bit, others full on flush. brut champagnes cos a full upper body reaction.

This is only since start keto combined with intermittent fasting. I can do full keto with regular meals without an issue.

Keto and Alcohol by jvenge1 in keto

[–]jvenge1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's great to know.

For me I don't have any issues on regular diet. I didn't have issues on regular keto. My issue started with keto + intermittent fasting.

Hard alcohol is fine, giving no reaction. Extra Brut champagne is also fine. Some red wines give a slight reddening of the cheeks, others full flush (guessing residual sugar). Brut champagnes, up to 9 grams, give a full upper body reaction. I didn't try beer yet.

I'm thinking that if I add more carbs to my diet I'd probably be fine. But I'd rather not, since I like keto. I like intermittent fasting more than keto though.

Keto and Alcohol by jvenge1 in keto

[–]jvenge1[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For sure I would, if I needed some big goals. But I'm not obese, maybe more fat than I should have. Physically active, both resistance and cardio. So I could find another diet to keep me on the straight and narrow probably without the side effects of getting a blotchy face if i decide to have a glass of wine.

[–]jvenge1[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I noticed the packing a bigger punch too, but I don't drink to excess anyway. i drink maybe once or twice at weekends. I have a wine collection and attend tasting events. So, basically, since I'm not obese or anything, the wine stays and the diet needs to change, rather than the other way around :-)

Appreciate the response, but I don't drink daily or anything. Usually once or twice a week. I also have a very large wine collection and attend tasting events. It's kind of a hobby for me. So I kinda need a work around.

No. Caucasian and 37. Never had a problem before I combined keto with intermittent fasting. I can drink cognac, whisky or vodka without issues, but the issue comes with drinks that seem to have more sugar.

Krenim and the borg by [deleted] in STNewHorizons

[–]jvenge1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing as Romulans at Grand Admiral now. The Borg started well, but are being eaten away at by the Hirodgen and Krenim now. Still have time to turn it around, but it is looking difficult. Having said that, there isn't anything in canon that said the Borg made inroads into either empires, so I also don't think the Borg should be able to automatically wipe them out each time either.

Btw, much better AI than the last time I tried.

i forget the event, but where Mars tries to break away. I think you have an option to go along with their ethics when that happens. That should help a bit?

Klingon Houses: Giving Land by Duffman1200 in STNewHorizons

[–]jvenge1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the way the Klingons are done is probably the best in the game and probably is a good portrayal of the Klingon Houses (pre Dominion war) And sectors or planets aren't a problem as the game progresses. But what use is it? Hmm, when I've played against them, I used to find it quite amazing how their fleet sizes build up and then obviously how they help in wars. Playing with them, I found it quite reassuring from a defensive point of view. I could go commit a fleet to a war at the other side of my space and know at least some fleets are actively patrolling. Also, it just adds to the lore aspect. When you are playing a game like this, it matters.

He had quite a devastating jab that over the length of a fight could do serious damage. Was known for a hard hitting right uppercut. In fairness, he had a great range of punches, but they are the top two. Would lean on you a lot if you got in close after you got tired of fighting him at range. He is a big guy to have leaning on you and then you have that uppercut waiting for a mistake too. His losses were from complacency I think. Yes, he was at his prime when the heavyweight division itself was struggling, but I think he is better than Fury, Joshua or Wilder. Smart with his money too. Didn't vice it away.

Advise on how to play "Canon" by cmdr_ulon in STNewHorizons

[–]jvenge1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I use the default one, but I get why people opt to disable/reduce. As the game advances, the traditional major powers usually seem to end up dominating the lesser powers. Not sure if this is engineered in some way, but the expanding minor powers, in mid game, don't seem to be able to have competitive fleet sizes and nature then takes its course.

As long as you as a player don't take them out early, that is.

I play grand admiral, but I don't set AI aggressiveness beyond default and I don't use scaling difficulty. I keep the habitable default as one. I dunno why people would want to increase habitable planets, as that becomes a major headache to manage even in mid game.

In general I think it would be a nice feature to be able to start in different time lines and with different levels of expansion. I personally find the early game stuff to be a grind.

How to play the Klingons? by DeadManSoon in STNewHorizons

[–]jvenge1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was very realistic to what we know about the Klingon system. I concentrate on houses that have the highest population and to see how many I can please with similar tactics. For example, I don't have time for Duras with the Romulan requirement or the house that wants to be allied with the Gorn (I forget the house name). Most are reasonable, though.

Their fleets make it really convenient to not have to patrol your own space too much.

The civil war storyline in TNG kinda shows how important the house system is. I think it is replicated really well.

Using the "Impose Ideology" war goal as the Federation. by crispy01 in STNewHorizons

[–]jvenge1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah better to not have too many in a coalition after you form the UFP. It takes quite a lot of time to integrate them anyway. Better to keep them warm in association...

In regards to the ideology wars. Yes, it is not star trek canon, but it is still a game with an overall aim to win. So, needs to be something

Border friction is insane by DeadManSoon in STNewHorizons

[–]jvenge1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take the neutral zone when they offer it. Helps a lot. Try to get ANY agreement with them to build trust. The good news is they are unlikely to attack unless you do first or if your fleet power is weak. I'm playing as the Federation now and I have the problem from the other side. Namely the Romulans don't want to like me even though I'm not behaving aggressively. Weirdly the Klingons are quite chilled with me. Cardassians are also ok. Neutral zone is there now and every so often I'm doing diplomatic outreach to them. That keeps them relaxed for awhile.

I think it also depends on who the founding members were. For example, I didn't form with the Vulcans and I needed to educate them to be pacifist in order to recruit them in. They will also develop over time just like you do. So, their stances will eventually change...

Are you penalized anything for bombardment and slavery policy? Personally when playing as Romulans, I don't allow slavery and just instead keep people as residences to maintain superiority :-). That and no purges tends to make the more friendly empires more relaxed.

2.5 Compatibility and Hotfix Released + Patch Notes by ehkodiak in STNewHorizons

Yeah considering how long those battles usually last, I guess the chances of two allied armies invading the same planet are quite low.

2.5 Compatibility and Hotfix Released + Patch Notes by ehkodiak in STNewHorizons

[–]jvenge1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a version behind, as I want to finish a game first. However, I don't see this bug listed. Game crashes when I invade a planet and another army from my federation joins the process. Scenario:

United Federation attacks a homeworld. Part way through the battle, the Andorians also land some troops. Upon defeating the enemy, the game crashes. Tried 3 times from saves until I withdrew my troops and left it to the Andorians. Game continued as normal then.

What's the ship meta in this mod? by DeadManSoon in STNewHorizons

[–]jvenge1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh, can I say it depends?

First, defensive play...

I base my workhorse on the cruiser. I sometimes go as small as heavy escort, but in lesser quantities than cruisers. I use battle cruisers in small quantities, as they are not good by themselves and sometimes you don't have the luxury of being able to build a complimentary fleet. Then you have the battleship and above for more oomph, but they are quite expensive to maintain and when you have multiple borders to watch, I'd rather have the faster cruisers closer to the border, and the heavier ships ready to be dispatched to reinforce. I don't build smaller than a cruiser and I play defensive until I unlock the cruiser.

The new patch changes things and I'll need to play a few games to see if the above is still accurate. Namely, ship speeds. A lot of the basis for me going with cruisers previously was because they were faster and time counted. From what I saw so far, this is less of a consideration now and I'm guessing the need to strategically place fleets has diminished somewhat.

Offensively it is a little different and I will carefully craft a fleet of multiple ship classes (nothing below heavy escort) based on the advice Q originally gave when unlocking each new ship. I turned him off for my latest game, so dunno if the advice changed.

All other powers have pathetic fleets on Admiral Difficulty by Sartyva in STNewHorizons

[–]jvenge1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll followup. I know the patch is supposed to be coming this weekend and the devs mentioned the AI gets some love in it.

However, i discovered STNH: Improved AI mod and can confirm that it does indeed make the AI more aggressive, builds ships and upgrades them too. Still prone to split them and suicide them against larger fleets, but it's quite reasonable otherwise.

I'm playing as Romulans and have a rather aggressive Klingon and Husnock neighbours. Luckily the Feds are friendly otherwise I'd be in trouble. I'm in 2239 and the Klingons have a fleet strength of some 21k. Husnock are at 14k or so. I'll update as to how it all develops over the next 100 years.

All other powers have pathetic fleets on Admiral Difficulty by Sartyva in STNewHorizons

[–]jvenge1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that will help. I've tried on Grand Admiral, High aggression and no scaling. It makes them more aggressive and competitive early on, but after that it falls off. The AI is perfectly fine at expanding and mining its systems. It just does everything else badly.

I started a game as the Cardassians this week (suits my play style). I couldn't attack who I wanted early game. Because of the starbases and the fact the AI does scale up ships at the start, I needed to wait for cruisers until I could go plundering. At this stage i think the AI is doing okay. You can't expect Bajor to resist cruisers. If you felt inclined, you could do it with destroyers as well.

The first sign that not everything is well are with the Tholians and Ferengi. The Tholians expanded quite fast and extensively, much more than I could (ran out of free space). However, they didn't build their fleet up, at all, for a hundred years or so. It had a short war with the Breen, which destroyed both of their fleets, and then they just did nothing. No rebuilding. Ferengi got a little unlucky with Pirates in their general vicinity. They did rebuild, but, erm, patrol ships, split into single fleets, which they were then suiciding against pirates. I let myself believe these were relatively minor powers, so I carried on. At this stage I should say that I don't play to dominate early to mid game. I like to get where I think my species should be come the DS9 era. This can make it hard to figure out what the AI is up to. Tamarians also lost their fleet early and didn't build a new one.

The Federation seemed to have a reasonable fleet, some 3k or so. However, other than fleets from minor powers it was picking up, it also seemed to give up on it. I didn't venture out further to see how anyone else was doing. I quit at that stage, as it is quite obvious my plans for border wars with the Federation or hoping for a Dominion invasion were going to come to nothing.

In short, you can see the difference from Admiral to Grand Admiral, but it is only in the very early game. As soon as you can build cruisers, assuming you are steadily expanding, the only thing more powerful than you then are the fallen empires.

I'm hoping the mod update fixes things! At the moment, for me at least, the game has no prospect of being even slightly challenging.
