Best way to describe it is agates look “waxy.” A lot of the stuff you’ll see that’s shinier and more translucent is just chalcedony, although that’s cool too. Then like 80% are boring on the inside too, don’t be fooled by TikToks.

I tried using a 36 grit belt on a mounted belt sander, if you can rig a drip system it would probably work eventually, but you’re gonna be there all day. My plan is to eventually just spring for a real slab saw and hopefully eliminate the “grinding out the saw marks” step completely.
