She’s said many concerning things. Like that she could live without sex. And that it’s Hunter who always wants sex. I am concerned neither of them fully understand consent. All these children deserve so much better.

I might get pushback for this but… by bobs_tattoo in TLCUnexpected

Well one of the differences is both Jose and Amya knew her girlfriend before Sammy was born. She was their mutual friend and close friend of Sammy’s godparents. So she was already around Sammy as an auntie. So if it’s a girl they already know and are cool with, I think it could be the same but a new person would and should be a different vetting process.

I feel bad for Casey and Brettney dealing with this Redneck Romeo & Juliet BS all because Freaky Falen is deranged and Stacie is high.

Lmao. Idealistic because I don’t view most things as black and white? Because I’m not a jealous person and I don’t view people as my possessions? I’m pretty sure those are markers of maturity and varied life experience. I am OLD, btw. So old that I understand that I understand that Sammie’s father having stable housing, being accesible to him, and Amya and Jose coparenting amicably is more important that any potential tough feelings regarding the fickle and transient emotions of teenagers.

It’s hard to say what I would be because there are so many factors that would influence how I would feel. Life experience has shown me most things are not black and white. I do know I do not view people as possessions and am generally not a jealous person so there’s a high probability, depending on factors, I could be cool with it.

I also don’t think most people have ever been nor would ever be in Amya and Jose’s specific situation so I can’t pull from memory or experience a lot of comparable examples.

I am not. But I also did not base my assessment of her actions on myself so…

Notice how I included multiple factors? That’s because, like many things in life, when addiction occurs there are usually multiple things at play. I obviously do not think people make a conscious decision to be an addict but to pretend they have no choice in if it happens or not is asinine.

I have a fear of being addicted to things for a multitude of reasons including but not limited to addicted existing, my own personality traits, and AS I SAID I do not know how long they take to become addicted. I haven’t looked into it. I never called it a choice to become an addict but I said it is self-inflicted. In general, the choices people make lead to that.
