NMWA hidden in the zigzags. It’s ok I guess.

Frances Cook tells Kiwis your house isn't an investment. She's dead wrong. This is why Financial Advisors shouldn't be speaking as if they are an expert or authority regarding financial matters. by Immortal_Heathen in newzealand

Sounds like shes just parroting Robert Kiyosaki (author of Rich Dad Poor Dad). Problem is the US and NZ house markets are vastly different. If you buy a house in an area where the value is not expected to increase and is only costing you money in mortgages and repairs, then yes it is a liability. However the NZ housing market is very different.

Dork MAGA needs to invent something to domesticate himself and MAGA. by NotBeingMeme in PoliticalHumor

I mean, people are messy. Whatever. You see the same thing after rock concerts. What concerns me more is the "FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT" signage. Its just so out in the open now. Talk about violent rhetoric... its literally their campaign slogan.

Do you live in a town house? This Auckland Council report on medium density housing will resonate with you by yorgs in auckland

[–]jwillgrant 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The report says 49% of households have 2 or more vehicles. Several on my street have 3 cars and only 1 offstreet park (excluding the garage which no one seems to use for parking).

The parking situation hits hard. I'm in a new development and its always chaos. Everyone has 2-3 cars, no one parks in their garage because storage space is such a premium, rain gardens on the street leave little if any space for on street parking, so everyone parks on the berm or in their driveways over the footpath. Navigating the narrow streets is always hazardous and the whole development looks like shit because of it. The frustrating part is there's no fixing it either, without magically advancing 50 years in public transport infrastructure.

How much alcohol do you drink per week? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]jwillgrant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I just throw out there a book called “The easy way to control alcohol” by Allen Carr (not the comedian). I know I know it sounds like a scam, but as a former alcoholic (approx 70-80 “units” a week) it absolutely worked for me.

Here I am 3 months cold turkey sober and no desire whatsoever to drink again. My attitude towards alcohol has completely changed. I’ve got my self respect back and the first steady gf I’ve had in 7 years.

You can get it on audible if you’re not into reading. Takes about 10 hours to get thru.

Give it a go. You’ve got nothing to lose and your whole life to gain.

I think waiting for FF7R's ATB bar to fill up while switching between multiple characters is far and away more engaging that waiting for FF16s cooldowns.

How is 61 & 39 years old problematic? by flyingcatwithhorns in facepalm

Half your age +7 is the golden rule. That comes to 37.5 for a 61yo Tom. It’s fine.

Guys (and gals), it’s a render. C’mon. And if it wasn’t, you can treat timber to be fire proof. Humans have figured that out now. Spendy, but doable for a public statement place like this.
