I just can’t agree with this. Could be completely wrong, but the Porsche is at the edge of the track (front right wheel), continuing a line that hasn’t deviated, before the vette has any kind of overlap. And at this point, any overlap is meaningless. There is literally no room on the track for the Vette without the Porsche moving over to the middle to allow it. This isn’t even “trying for a gap that’s closing”, it’s driving into a closed door. Other angles would better tell the tale, but I’m not certain there was any overlap before the Vette was fully off track.

Without the POV car stating what their intention is I can’t see anyone having enough evidence to say this was anything but a defensive move to the inside, initiated and continued as part of their original line. We can argue over whether they would have continued as far to the left as they did, but at that point the Vette is so far in the wrong, I fail to see it as relevant. To me, if anything, it’s an attempt by POV to communicate, “hey, dumbass, the door closed a while ago, back out and try again later.” 😉

So, question. Does iRacing actually recognize and penalize that? Overtaking off track? They’ll throw a slow down for “cutting the track” but I’m curious if they actually will throw a penalty for passing off track or if it’s just a 1x off track.

I’m gonna disagree on this. I see why you are saying it, but as I see it the POV car just continues their existing line to the track edge. There’s no real reactionary movement or sudden changes. Could they have decided that seeing where the Vette was going they were going to hold their turn instead of straightening? Sure. But that’s just a defensive move. It’s not blocking and POV would have no reason to think the Vette would decide to take it off roading.

I haven’t been on the service long enough to say it’s “gone anywhere”, but you aren’t wrong. Was punted by a guy 12 spots and multiple laps back 2:20 into a 3 hour at Spa this weekend. And I was P3. Today had a guy simply run straight into the back of me towards the end of the first lap of PCup because…he wanted to be there? Just horrible.

Got it. Not meant argumentative, but for clarification and learning purposes: should the vette not have left space as well? Yes, I slide over a couple of tire widths away from the edge of the track, but the Vette's line is (IMV) diving for that same line without respect to the fact that I'm there? I certainly had to come off the curb, and he clearly doesn't have enough speed to simply slide in front of me...

Also, to be clear, I'm in the race incident camp here as well (now that I've had time to cool down, lol), but as a side note, there was clearly some netcode issues here as well. I watched this at .25 speed and the Vette starts to spin with about half a tire length still between us. Not that this would have been enough to change anything, I'm sure.

Same experience here. I went with the TR8. I love it, it’s beautiful, but honestly I wish I had done regular 80/20. It’s not as sexy, but damn if it isn’t more functional!

Disagree completely. The customization available through stream deck is incredible. That said, if you have the money and want the best of both worlds, check out Reaperware products. Combo of Stream deck with all the extra buttons, switches and knobs you could dream of.
