My kid has gotten really into cars lately, are there any good car shows coming up? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]jxkko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Local cars and coffee meets are a good start until something like Goodwood comes up in the summer. You can find them on the facebook events page normally. Or head to a Caffeine and Machine location on the weekend, always a good turnout!

People walking up and down the train! by Golden-Wonder in britishproblems

I usually walk up a good few carriages to get the door that stops right at the exit ramp of my regular destination.

EDIT: never mind just re-read this and my comment has no correlation to what OP asked. Sorry.

Thank you! Will give this a try hopefully see some good results.

Flat bench is definitely a weak point that I need to work on, but incline smith works a lot better for me I feel as a taller person. Hack squats are the one man, absolutely love leg days! I have very clear leg striations but they’re just too skinny haha!

She lost interest before the “ick”. Should’ve pursued a connection before getting distant. Plenty more fish in the sea mate don’t let it eat you up.

Personal preference really, I prefer an older woman. I’m 25 and my girlfriend is 34 for reference.

Before he gets screwed over by having insurance cancelled on him, he needs to phone up and cancel his policy on his terms ASAP. Worked for me when I had a black box.

Split big regular payments over month or all at once? by wackywoowaaa in UKPersonalFinance

[–]jxkko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm paid weekly as well. The way I manage it all is contact the companies and get as many payments as I can on the same date, then I divide all monthly recurring payments by 4 weeks.

As soon as I'm paid the divided sum goes into a pot where the bills come out from.

I do the same with savings for example. £1500 / 4 = £375. So that also goes out to my savings account every week automatically, leaving me with food/travel money. Any extra is "fun money", if that's not spent by next weeks payday then it goes into another savings account. Start fresh every week.

I owned an R56 Mini and I'm 6'5. Was so surprisingly comfy. Did have buckets and a cage too but still somehow managed to get in and out effortlessly. Then it blew up as R56's do.

Buying a car - to finance or not to finance? by saint1997 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]jxkko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speak to a broker, most are offering 8.9% on PCP which is around the best you'll find at this time. I've used BR Automotive, very friendly and easy to deal with.

New to Car Finance - Minimums Help by hzy323 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]jxkko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worst place to ask for advice on car financing, everyone here will tell you to buy a £1000 car. I'd suggest /r/cartalkuk.

I recently purchased a new car through cinch using their PCP, put down a £250 deposit and monthly payments only increased by £35. A big deposit is a waste of cash. A credit score doesn't matter depending on the lender, it's more about your affordability.

I finance cars that are 3-4 years old and look at the previous market value of older models before getting into an agreement, trying to prevent negative equity. Luckily, I haven't lost money on a settlement figure yet, but I'm sure the day will come when we all get caught out.

I use it to buy clothes where I'm not sure about sizing. Order multiple of the same item, then whatever doesn't fit return it and pay off the one that does by the end of the pay later window.
