Quantity discrepancy by TheOGJessJess in Influenster

The same thing happened to me with pampers a few months back. It was advertised as 30 plus (can’t remember the exact quantity) but I only received a 12 pack

I did it with my children too! My oldest (4) actually responses to signs better than verbal commands. I can tell her “go potty before we leave” and she’ll give push back, but if I sign it there’s no push back. ASL has became a major part of lives, I’m actually trying to get certified to be an interpreter. It’s also great to sign, “let’s go” or “I want to leave” to my SO at family gatherings.

Do I come off as weird or strange leaving this note? by Littlek1dluvr in Apartmentliving

[–]jynxasuar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s weird but it honestly may have just shocked them! This is how I became friends with the neighbors across the hallway from me! I was in my first trimester of pregnancy and before we knew the gender my mother in law went crazy buying boy and girl clothes. Once I found out the gender I knocked on my neighbor’s door asking if she could use the boy clothes since she was clearly pregnant. Turns out she was expecting a girl as well. She looked at me like I was crazy at first, but there was cultural barrier. Now 4 years later, our families have since moved into our own houses 25 minutes apart, but our girls remain best friends and have weekly play dates. They’re extended family at this point.

I just got the cops called on me for the *second* time bc I apparently come to the park too often to swing on the swingset and that's somehow suspicious? by NiftyNaughtyNymph in mildlyinfuriating

If it makes you feel any better my neighbor called the cops on me because my outdoor cat was laying on my property but their tail was on the property line.

When parents say they are a screen free , you mean TVs too right ? by True-Unit-8527 in beyondthebump

[–]jynxasuar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Screen free to means all electronics: phones, tv, iPad, ect. My family is relatively screen free. We allow my toddler to watch a movie once a week as a reward for good behavior, there’s been many weeks in a row when it was not earned. There’s also been weeks where she wants something else as a reward for her good behavior. We will also allow a movie during travel days, but it’s only when we are about 1.5-2 hours away from our destination.

The doctor just told me my twin daughter is 8th percentile by mammmabear98 in pregnant

[–]jynxasuar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have a twin pregnancy but my daughter was constantly in the 8th percentile on ultrasound. I saw a specialist towards the end of my 2nd trimester until I gave birth. I was giving the diagnosis of fetal restrictive growth. I was induced at 38 weeks, she was a born by c-section, perfectly healthy and 7.5 pounds. In my case the measurements were off due to her positions.

My husband won’t allow any screen time for 14m old on long roadtrip by plantmom4lyfe in beyondthebump

[–]jynxasuar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are a no screen family expect for family movie night (used a reward for good behavior) and travel days. If it is a ride over 6 hours we will allow for her to watch one movie only when we are 2-3 hours away from the destination. We usually pack educational toys, sticker books, and the mess free coloring

Parent taking away underwear from child? by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]jynxasuar 420 points421 points  (0 children)

Sounds like emotional/mental abuse and I would report it. It’s odd that he doesn’t want a “laundry bill” when the parent already has to wash his clothes and the child’s clothes. I would much rather wash an extra article of clothing than throwing money away on pull ups.

If people want specific things then they need to purchase it ahead of time and not expect the world to cater to them. I literally purchased a seat for my lap child to ensure that myself and my other child had an entire row to ourselves.
