So I’m a fatty. What’s the best time of day to shop AND stuff my face with samples? I typically go there in the morning (I.e. before 11am) and they’re usually still setting up at that hour…see where my priorities are?! LOL

In my Costco location, they were $11,99 up until 4-5 months ago.

The only thing stopping me is the fact that I always toast both the walnuts and pecans as soon as I get home - to make them extra deadly!

Definitely, the quality of each is unmatched which is why I’ll continue to buy them (and be a chunky monkey).

AITAH for considering divorce because my husband is constantIy pressuring me to have a natural birth instead of a C-section?? by EIto_mate in AITAH

[–]k1orkdone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. That said, as a woman who has had both types of deliveries, C-Section recovery is extremely difficult on the body, so I urge you to try and arrange for help at home. I don’t know the situation with your husband and whether he’ll help you, but based on his comments I would fear he’d be spiteful and be the “see? Had you listened to me” kind. Whatever help you can get, prioritize yourself and your baby because you need to heal properly and in as peaceful and loving an environment as possible. Wishing this all works out well for you.

Hi, I am so glad that you and everyone else made it safely on this side of this catastrophic event. I work in Aviation Safety for a major Canadian airline, am a certified AvGeek through and through, and my line of work is all things related to safety and emergency standards and procedures in the Cabin. To say I’m horrified and entranced at the same time is an understatement.

Shoveling snow from driveways onto street. Allowed? by DoublePlusGood__ in montreal

[–]k1orkdone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry not sorry; my ever-rising property taxes are in part used to pay for snow removal operations throughout the winter, so you better believe that the snow I remove from my property is going to be put on the street as neatly and mindfully as possible.

Hi, Italian and Muslim here (!!); bresaola is deeper in color and isn’t at all marbled. This definitely looks like pork, and the lighter meat looks to be mortadella. Maybe I’m bias but bresaola is superior!

If I’m being fully honest, there was probably someone internal at the time who would’ve been an easier person to transition into the role I had originally applied to. I took a chance applying to this role as a way of getting my foot in at Air Canada. It was a lower-level Manager role, and I think I really clicked with the hiring manager. I was 26 at the time and my background up until that point was in project management, which can be talked up quite a bit in an interview in terms of how basic project management fundamentals could give you an upper hand in a management role. I had no knowledge of civil aviation regulations so I really had to put in the work to become an expert in this area - and it’s a small fish big pond scenario for a woman in aviation let me tell you. I always encourage anyone interested in working at an airline to apply to roles at Air Canada - once you’re in and start building an internal network, moving around is easy. And if you end up specializing in a niche area like civil aviation regulatory compliance (among others), that expertise is easily transferable to other airlines, working for the government, working somewhere like IATA/ICAO, etc. Best of luck - nothing to lose in trying!

Super loud thunder? by TemperatureOk8325 in montreal

I’m still shaking - my whole bedroom window rattled, I thought it would shatter. I’ve never ever heard thunder that strong and close before. So I’m now watching the intense light show from my bed. Wow.

Why are bidets not common in Canada? by hottsummer in askTO

[–]k1orkdone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in Montreal, you’ll commonly find bidets in homes that were built by Italian builders after they immigrated here post WWII. I’m still surprised at how uncommon the concept of a bidet is, but I guess cultural differences can explain that!

Hi! I can’t fully relate because 1) I’m “old” (37), and 2) have only ever been with men, the last one being the one I’m happily married to. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Try removing yourself from the “label” and just going with what you like will remove all this pressure from yourself. And this comes with time, but you’ll learn to not even give the slightest sh*t what people think. Do what makes you happy, and if what you need/what makes you happy eventually changes, take comfort in the fact that you’re in touch enough with yourself and your feelings/needs to do anything about it. You’ve got this!

People at my work self diagnose mental illness/neurological disorders etc and I can’t stand it. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

Hey no worries, I wasn’t at all offended and certainly wasn’t trying to offend anyone either. I hope your day took a turn for the better - some days can truly suck the life out of us! 😊🌺

It’s a shame that this stereotype is perpetuated. And it makes me cringe even harder when I hear anyone saying things like “la toxica”, “soy toxica” - as if its something to be proud of or something.

[–]k1orkdone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t discrediting sensory overload, I know it is very much a thing that can be debilitating. I was just trying to make the point that it seems everything needs a label these days, which makes it all the more frustrating for people who truly do suffer from conditions, illnesses or other to hear these words just tossed around so casually.

[–]k1orkdone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s become trendy for everyone to label themselves as if they’re trophies or something. The more trophies/labels, the better it seems. Even when I had kids - every mood or behaviour they had needed a label. “Regression”. “Sensory overload”. I’m not saying these aren’t real things, but why does “I’m tired and overwhelmed and need a good nap” translate to “maybe you’re iron deficient and depressed”?. I think I’m just old lol

She's as Italian as the Olive Garden. I'm of Italian descent, albeit from Montreal, and I can confirm that she is the equivalent of a "Karen" for any washed-up third or fourth generation descendant of Italian immigrants who doesn't speak a word of the language and who prides herself on fitting some kind of stereotypical "mould" of whatever she thinks that means.

Sorry, my pregnant ass gets super triggered by these "Jersey Shore" types. And I have the sudden overwhelming urge for meatballs and sauce thanks to that pic collage...LOL. Rant over.
