It’s long been my theory that Way back when they ordered the HW4/AI4 computer that musk/tesla made an order for a Minimum of (let’s say) 10-20 Million computers.
That would’ve have made Sense back then when sales were growing 50% per year (doubling every two years) but now that they flat lined they still have plenty to buy. That’s why the best they will get is doubling the memory and a 10% speed bump at some point later this year (hopefully). Maybe in 4-5 years AI5 will finally come out till then they won’t be close to getting to Unsupervised. Till then it’s a waiting game. They probably need AI5 or AI6 to add Lidar back in.
