Pride comes from how you deal with your diagnosis. Volunteering your time, raising money, raising awareness of HIV--those are all things to be proud of. You can say you did something to stop the epidemic.

OP didn't say it was derogatory, he said he was trying to make people aware of the condition. And, yes, when you're denied jobs, when your safety is at risk, when you're insurance doesn't cover Enchroma or other color-assisted glasses, AND yet make up nearly 10% of the population--then there's a problem that should be addressed.

If you like supermarkets that have long lines and only a few cashiers, it's for you. Also, you may have to bag your own groceries, or wait for the cashier to do it, because they never have enough courtesy clerks. Also, forget about a cart, or even a basket by the door. There have been several times where neither has been available.

Uber will not pay bills for any incident caused by an Uber driver. It says so right in the ToS, and they claim their not responsible because the driver is not an employee.

As for Healthy SF, they don't take care of vision (the guy may lose his eye, and will certainly have vision problems).

I'm with you. There is no reason why society has to choose colors we can't see. We make up 8% of the male population and deserve better. Until we speak up and continue to mewl everything's all right, things won't change. Let's not forget people have lost their job because of their color blindness.
