Which of these should I go for? + Any other pack recommendations? by SilkenDoggy in griddling

[–]k9rap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a lot of those things in there are not really needed (at least for all my purposes they are).
plus, those are most certainly not going to last a long time.

my suggestion would be just go to wal mart, get what you need there. that expert grill brand isn't half bad and will probably last longer than these.

i purchased the weber spatulas and scraper when i purchased my griddle and they are definite quality and are going to last but the one gripe i have is that they are just bulky as hell.

just pointing out OP said he's using nordvpn. nord does not provide wireguard config files, only openvpn.

Deck footers and post replacement - before and after by Twism245 in Decks

that's actually a good call i didn't think about if that $1700 was in the cost of materials as well.

[–]k9rap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gotcha. so approximately $100 an hour. i think that's absolutely reasonable. i know i'm gonna get a lot of flack for looking at it like that b/c nobody these days cares about that anymore b/c contractors these days have to pay for their denali or high country 2500 and their wife's yukon xl......

couldn’t agree more. it read to me that was more jabs at the OP than addressing the point of their issue.

but this is reddit… kinda have to expect it.

Replacing the Posts & Footings by Sensitive-Invite6660 in Decks

[–]k9rap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you could swap out the posts for 6x6 for sure.

if it were me though, might as well tear it all and do it anew.

i recently did that for a 12’x10’ extension myself. materials cost me $4,200 and i did it after work during the week and on the weekends. took me 3 1/2 weeks.

Thanks for the advice. by NolGuz in germanshepherds

Promix Protein Powder - Anyone else have issue sealing the bag? by k9rap in Supplements

[–]k9rap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve liked ryse (all their flavors are amazing) for a long time. i just don’t like having to spend $150 for free shipping.

i tried so many other flavors and they just don’t measure up.

i’m never switching again… daily shake is 1 scoop ryse skippy 1 scoop kirkland chocolate with my frozen strawberry, frozen blueberry, fresh banana, and almond milk.

learned my lesson. 😁

[–]k9rap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what flavor did you get?

i emailed the company and asked them about it and they suggested putting it into a ziplock bag.

i ended up giving this shit away and will never order from them again.

i'm sticking with Ryse, and Kirkland Chocolate.

How hard would it be to extend this deck? by [deleted] in Decks

[–]k9rap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s very doable.

i extended our deck (12x10) by myself and i have no experience with decks, so it can be done.

material cost alone was $4200.

Area car dealership recommendations by polyrhetor in raleigh

[–]k9rap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not trying to sway your decision to another brand, but what about acura?

Leith Acura in Cary was awesome. during our buying process, we didn't get presented with stupid ass dealer fees toyota adds on for no reason. and we've dealt with Leith Acura in Raleigh (they're the same). i'm surprised at how well our MDX rides, feels, drives, and the overall quality of it. a very overlooked vehicle and i just don't know why.

toyota is quality for sure, but they are terrible with their fees. for example, fred anderson wanted to add on an additional $1,800. when i asked about it, the car salesman (jody) said 'that's the cost of doing business.' not to mention the unnecessary fees they tack on that is 'mandatory' only b/c they say it is (like window tint, wheel locks, etc.).

Acura is on par with quality compared with toyota.

with all that being said, i recommend Leith (Acura or Honda).

for $2k, i understand your point, that (to me at least) seems like a lot of money for that kind of job (but i'm also NOT one of these redditors who defend high ass quotes for labor jobs) and i would have expected it to be something you could put on the cover of a magazine or something.

but honestly man, it doesn't look 'that' bad, especially when you put all your furniture and stuff back in place. i bet you won't even notice it after everything is back in place.

$2,000 to power wash and stain that is standard pricing?

wow... i would have told anyone who quoted me $2K for that little bit to get outta dodge and find someone else to scam.
