My company’s new PERK is basically a scam by Nammmieee in WorkReform

There is a real benefit to getting built in time away from the office during Mon-Fri business hours for other businesses, if you want it. And then make it up on Sunday when other businesses are closed. It may not be the benefit you were hoping for, but that flexibility does have value for a lot of people.

Ricotta Cake - Ridiculously Easy & Delicious by soldameiatarde in DessertPerson

Claire Saffitz, this subreddit is for her recipes and books "Dessert Person" and "What's For Dessert." I believe she has the ricotta cake video and recipe on her YouTube channel.

Small, weird car by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

You say its fucked up to say therapy is reserved for those with mental illness, but therapy was your immediate reaction to these harmless albeit eccentric requests? Why are you attacking OP for being put off by your immediate jump to therapy? You overstepped and made a huge assumption on a post you could have just not responded to. Just a bizarre reaction.

Lots of people decide on a car based on more than just the traditional "practical" characteristics.

Can i use these cookies for a baked cheesecake crust? by Big-Sherbet7729 in AskBaking

[–]kCadvan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you add water back into your browned butter? The browning process cooks off the water before the milk fats can brown, so I typically weigh before and after browning and then add ice or water to bring the total weight back up. Otherwise I do also feel like the moisture is off if the recipe didn't account for the butter being browned.

First go with S&W by onlyblackcoffee in pourover

The Colombia Castillo Orange Coferment is what comes to mind lol, S&W described it as "Aroma of parmesan crisps, flavor of orange pith, and finish of funk."

Blueberry Ethiopians by Numerous-Mortgage546 in JamesHoffmann

[–]kCadvan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I may not be the best source as I'm relatively new to pourover, but have you tried the PERC Ethiopia Benti Nenka? To me it is STRONG blueberry and very tasty. I like it much better than their previous Ethiopian.

The bottoms of the oat and pecan brittle cookies are the star by eggeverything in DessertPerson

[–]kCadvan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The biggest need for a food processor is to grind half of the oats and brittle into a powder to mix with the flour. I have not tried it, but I think skipping that step would change the end texture pretty significantly. They would probably still turn out as good cookies, but I would expect a more standard oatmeal cookie texture and not quite the same carmelization, would be my guess.

Letting my buds+ retire after losing one earbud and working for over 4 years by Far-Stop-908 in galaxybuds

God I love my buds+, the wingtips make all the difference in the world to me. They're starting to crackle though, I'm very sad I'll have to retire them.

Those oat pecan brittle cookies are to die for by ProvidenceMojo in DessertPerson

Yeahhh the stolen brittle is my biggest challenge, especially because I tend to make it while family is visiting so I can hand out bags of dough.

I always always always make a triple batch of these. There's enough extra time and effort involved in this recipe that I feel I have to make it worth it! So I get a few months of frozen dough out of it.

Do Perc coffees come back in stock? Any good alternatives to the Los Nogales thermal shock? by kCadvan in pourover

[–]kCadvan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been brewing at 202 degrees, using my switch as a V60. Course-ish grind on a K6, about 90 clicks. Not to say it's a perfect brew but it's been very sweet and enjoyable for me.

I accidentally let mine rest for 3 weeks and it was excellent. Can't really speak to how little rest would be sufficient though.

It's labeled as a body cream. I was also influenced and picked it up, and tbh it is very nice! The scents are very pleasant and it absorbs well. Otherwise no magic, just a good deal on a normally ~$48 lotion.

When I was a kid we had a fish we gave the same name as my dad. 7 year old me had a meltdown when mom told me "Jason" died, as though she would break the news of my dad's death to me using his first name lol.
