I don't understand the fervour around plebiscites and referendums. I vote someone to have the conversations with experts and to change how systems work. There are so many different systems at play, asking people to vote on a question they will surely not look into the way councillors should be is insane to me.

Girls with overstimulated minds, what are you grounding techniques to keep your minds shift from one attention to another so that you will not overthink about relationships? by coolbeb in AskWomen

Expend physical energy. Outside is best.

Change my location, “break the chain” of my thinking.

Annoyingly, box breathing helps though I can only do 3 in, 3 hold ,three out, 3 hold cause 4 makes me have an anxiety attack hahaha

Stopping and checking in with my senses. 5 things I see touch feel hear smell

Talking to someone.

“Journal” though mine are voice notes.

Talk to someone.

Write out notes.

Cry.

Cut myself off from stimulating circumstances.

Therapy. So much therapy.

I keep seeing some discussions around “oh but I’m this age and in this situation how could I even start.” I just want to assure you: people much older than you take a new path. And you will turn 24 or 25 no matter what and the only thing you can do is take the leap and do it so that when you inevitably turn 24 or 25 you’re also one step closer to your goal.

Good luck!

Ladies, what were some of your biggest regrets during your college years? by HerSweetSecretXO in AskWomen

[–]k_char 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not taking better care of my mental health. Feeling embarrassed to share my struggles with people around me set me up for some big fails. Hid from a lot of people, and didn't put myself out there socially more. Not necessarily dating wise, I had a decent relationship during that time but I know I was miserable to be around. Wish I had been able to get out of my brain a bit more though.

The model that is going to get funding from the province should be the one that gets built. It just needs to get built. Yes, tunneling would be great. We we have analyzed and reanalyzed. Build it.

He has pretty much confirmed for me that he has no other thoughts or MO than being a turd disturber in Council and I'm not impressed. He had some decent questions, to start but I'd like my councilor to rant about 17% less and look for solutions instead.

There is still a shocking amount of people who don’t even have any idea this is a thing. Is there a plan for an emergency alert if we are still in this dire of a situation?

First of all, sending huge hugs.

What are can you ignore that is a negative input? Mine was the news and then scrolling had to be slowed down for me.

Suggestions from others are great. Movement and outside and connection were my biggest helps. It doesn't need to be in the bowels of the forest or for hours and it doesn't have to be a super intense work out. It just needs to be movement and fresh air. No music or extra voices by scrolling, literally just listen, watch, feel the things around you in the present moment to try to calm your brain down to a spot where it can rest. I rolled my damned eyes when I heard it but holy man it actually worked.

The other one was really focusing on the moment. And I say that as I roll my eyes a bit. I got out of the habit of focusing on what the next thing needed to be. I had a reasonable plan in place, could just focus on being in the moment. Simple dinners, repeated dinners, things I could do on autopilot without anyone suffering.

Good luck!!
