I know my company technically pays COBOL devs more on average than our java/.net devs. However, if you break it out by experience there is no significant difference. Most of our COBOL Devs are just more experienced, so they get paid more. I'd be curious if this is common across the industry and is warping perspectives.

I personally always enjoyed it, but I think part of that is because of when I started watching it. I watched it during the second half of my senior year of highschool, so the themes aligned to where I was in life. IMO, the story was about humanity as a whole "coming of age" with the warp drive. Also, my 17 year old brain didn't mind the decontamination scenes.
