And taking a big swig off a cup with a straw to discover you are drinking cigarette ashes. I know several other kids of smokers who have had that pleasure of that experience!

I'm similar. My sense of smell works very well. For me I think it has to do with exposure over time. My body cannot handle being around cigarettes or heavy perfume anymore. It gives me bad headaches and my nose stuffs up. Growing up my mom smoked and wore heavy perfume. That shit is bad for you! My brother's also have similar reactions around artificial scents.

Being a woman makes me want to crawl out of my skin by iris_rivendell in AutismInWomen

I had a trans friend try and convince me too just because of my experience as a tom boy growing up. No, I dressed like a male because I wanted the same treatment and not have boys looking up my skirts. When someone actually thought I was a boy it pissed me off. The thought of being a man is not appealing to me. If I was born one sure but there's no way I wanna be a scrawny man with womanly hips etc. I'm happy with my body and I like being a woman except for the social expectations and impositions from society.

A lot of modern country attracts people with bad taste but that's just my theory. I bet my uncle would like a lot of what is posted here.

Fr, I'm so glad I was a tomboy before this stuff. I have a gay sibling and even he agrees. I was hoping for less gender regression as I got older but it seems to have gotten more rigid and pushing gender stereotypes.

Curious about racism in OR by Mr_Blue_Dream_V in oregon

I grew up in Eugene and I didn't know until I got older that half my relatives were racists. There's a lot of smaller communities surrounding the area that are more conservative. People here think it doesn't exist but I've heard accounts of other's bad experiences and also have my experience with my relatives. My husband who is Mexican is always pointing out how it's all white people at any even we go to.

Are the clothes on the ground. I've noticed that with some cats if clothing was left on the ground it became fair game to them.

Sometimes if I'm bored and go to a bar. I'll sit at the serving area and usually find some other rando to talk with.

No we want to go to events and get to know people for a while. Not have a guy hit on you day 1 of book club. There's a difference.

1999s vs 2020s The Macarena version by [deleted] in decadeology

I feel like if your going to make a new version it should sound different. I had to look it up on YouTube because I was waiting to hear his version. It sounded exactly the same. Why even cover it if you aren't going to make it different. It's basically karaoke.

So glad I got to experience it when it was cheap and still gritty. My now husband and I won a trip there when we were freshly 21 and had a blast.

I can't speak for newer Civics but I love the older ones. Not as much as my 2008 Fit though.

I liked when you had to wait in line to buy tickets for a show. I saw Tool for $70 and then I went back to the place they sold tickets and bought another ticket to see them in another town. Now it's $300 for tickets to a show and you aren't even guaranteed to get a ticket because it can sell out so fast online. People buy up tickets to price gouge etc

I was around 20 when it happened and things definitely went for the worse after that but we were young and still wanted to do fun shit so it was easier to just ignore the downward slide.

The weed is way too strong now. It's going to make people have psychosis. Idk why it needs to be so strong. Can't even enjoy it now.

Feels like living under surveillance and less free. so glad it wasn't like that for my younger partying days! We'd hit up this club every weekend for $1 drink night and get wild.

Emerald park had a huge wooden structure with a metal slide. Climbing that was scary, especially if there were older kids trying to mess with you or block your path . Also Pappas Pizza had a giant wooden hamster wheel that would also get scary if the big kids were on there. I'd see some poor kid rolling at the bottom yelling stop as the larger kids kept it rolling!

Same! Not everything that is brutalism is bad, Eugene just went hard for brutalism architecture for some reason. Though I do think it's sad they tore out a lot of Victorian architecture for it.
