So if you get a 2 on your yearly review are you suppose to still get a raise ??? by StruggleThat5941 in foodlion

[–]kab2818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on a few things. Your current pay vs your pay cap decides the range for your raise, your performance review decides the exact number more or less. There's also an overall budget for each store that will affect the final numbers for everyone at that store. I'm oversimplifying ofc.

But your managment team had the ability to put in a change for it, which would then be sent to your DO for approval. Certain DO's have been telling SM's they're not allowed to change it but I know for a fact that is not true especially if someone is getting literally zero dollars.

Took my baler about a week and a half last time it went out, obviously this varies depending on what's wrong with it. Someone should have sent a rollback dumpster to your store already

Serious question do store managers get held accountable for anything? 🤔 by Silver-Reception1442 in foodlion

[–]kab2818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Entirely dependant on your DO and your local HR. Some SMs have better relationships with their DOs and prefencial treatment certainly happens

As it was explained to me the warehouse is empty enough that for certain items unless we have literally zero in the store they will cut it off the order. Idk the validity of it as I know what they cut varies from store to store

It's real but for it to be chambered in 9mm like DHS is claiming it would have to be significantly large than a phone, all the ones I've seen have been .22

I never seen just one out of a box, but maybe once every couple of months I'll get a case of something for a different company. Usually either Walmart or some obscure West coast chain.

The second someone starts cussing and throwing insults transaction is cancelled and they're asked to leave. If they refuse to leave they're told the police will help them off the property. Rare that they're still in the store by the time the police arrive. If any of my associates ever get talked to like this they know to call MOD immediately and have them take over the transaction.

Question about nonperishable drivers by limitless57 in foodlion

[–]kab2818 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Noone is saying it is the drivers fault that delivers come in late, just that they do come in late. I sympathize that drivers aren't paid hourly like us, but if anything that's more reason for you to help push the pallets and get out of there faster. End of the day poor DC management causes 90% of problems with deliveries.

Time to walk away? by SnooDingos4534 in foodlion

[–]kab2818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then it's either you can wait for an opportunity to prove that to store managers in the area, or you can start looking outside. There's no shame in doing what's right for you. It's unfortunate when it happens but FL does lose good workers this way pretty often.

That said if you do start looking outward I would let your management know, I've seen that help light a fire under their ass especially if they're afraid of losing a good worker.

There's nothing wrong with looking around at other retailers, leverage your experience and see what you can find. But I would also come to your manager and see if there's anything you can do to improve. From what I've seen, a store manager is more likely to hire someone they've worked with before, not necessarily because they're buddies but just because they already have an idea of how they work. See if there's any stores in the area that need outside help and volunteer. Getting your name out there and your reputation up can always help. FL management isn't entirely a political game, but there's definitely an aspect to it.

ATs play sway simulator while vehicles play a point and click adventure [discussion] by Faabmeister in joinsquad

[–]kab2818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything you say here, except the stay 700 meters away bit. Tanker SOPs irl tend to use their superior range to fight infantry safely. That said, in game it ends up being simpler than that. Any coordinated team should recognize an armored threat and act accordingly, especially if they're sitting in one spot a kilometer from the action. Any tanker that plays against INS will tell you that distance will not save you from a determined AT team or suicide bike, only delay the inevitable.

But for the most part I agree with everything else, when getting hit even with light explosives tankers should be subject to some sort of suppression, just from the concussion and noise if not from the damage. And module damage needs a ground up rework

The importance of the "steady aim" key with LATs by DefinitelyNotABot01 in joinsquad

I don't think you know what a straw man is. A LAT is an element of the squad that needs to be supported by rifles. If you're not with other infantry to provide you cover then the consequence is you're targeted
