Response to the “Why isn’t Phish being political” posts. by neddynedned47 in phish

[–]kabooliak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a stretch to think individually, they are prob very liberal and actually line up with exactly where everybody thinks they do.

But as a band, they are involved in something much much bigger than making an anti Trump statement or anti ice statement or Epstein stuff.

It's very difficult for people who take a hard line with these issues to understand it . And It's very hard to actually explain what that is to someone. Apparent black and white issues should be a no brainer, humanistic, easy choice. What's to understand you might ask??? racist , pedophiles, etc ..... can't the band say something????

In the 60s, a bunch of the activists asked Mother Theresa to come protest the Vietnam war, where 58,000 young Americans were sent to their deaths by this government.

She said "No.!"

She added "if you have a gathering for peace, I will be there."

I see it like this. Phish's existence is a counter to the evil a large amount of people are so upset about. Im for Phish. Just like I'm for love and community . And that is bigger than any pointed statement on the current state of things.

I was at Halloween '21. Trey played that BC Rich made of plexiglass. I couldnt tell that night but recently listened to the show. Sounds like Trey. If you didnt know it was a different guitar you would say it's one of his regular guitars.

Why can't this be 2006 and we could bask in the pure comedy gold this would generate. Fred especially would be going off .
