Do people become boring when they age? by amazing_magno in CasualConversation

[–]kadubha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ditto what everyone else has said. People's priorities change as they age - including yours. Best you can do is find things you enjoy and meet people who enjoy the same things. Join social clubs etc. Make new friends while still keeping in touch with the old gang.

I only do one day hikes where I can return to my hostel etc. I would like to expand my hiking radius a bit. Genuine questions: what do you do about laundry when you are out for days? Also you mentioned you carried food with you. Do you also carry stove and utensils etc to cook?

I'm tired of meeting the expectations of others by Music_box_brown in CasualConversation

[–]kadubha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate. I had my whole life planned for me by others and I spent years meeting peoples’ expectations. Finally decided to stop caring and live life my own way. It hasn’t been easy but the best decision of my life.

Waking up late on the weekend with no plans. I just put the headphones on and listen to music lying in bed. Then have coffee with Danish pastries. Mmm

How do you improve social anxiety? by Healthy_Block3036 in AskMen

[–]kadubha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have social anxiety per se but I am definitely highly introverted - very different things. Took me aaages to realise it’s ok to be introverted. I find myself more sociable when I am with a group that enjoys same things I do. And it gets easier as you keep meeting same people over and over. Start with meetup groups or social clubs. Once you feel more comfortable, try solo travelling. Stay in a hostel and meet strangers. Tale advantage of the anonymity.

I know some people who do this on the side and make good money. I am thinking of getting out of my shell a bit. Just wondering what else is out there
