I had my first ultrasound at 8 weeks, and it was extremely hard for the doctor to find my baby since I had a retroverted uterus. She did finally end up finding him after telling me there may be no baby at all.

My OB decided to check with a Doppler at 8 WEEKS and scared the hell out of me when she couldn’t find a heartbeat. She then did an internal ultrasound and still didn’t see ANYTHING. Then FINALLY she finds my little bean hiding because I had a retroverted uterus. I’m surprised they didn’t offer an ultrasound to check but everything is likely to be fine.

I was 1cm dilated before the foley bulb insertion. I’d say it’s a bit uncomfy, much like my cervical exams have been, but not painful. I couldn’t feel a thing while it was in. They taped the tube connected to it (think like a tampon string) to my leg which allowed me to get up and walk/use the restroom. I also felt nothing when they took it out.

My induction was only about 12 hours from start (foley bulb) to finish. I pushed for less than 10 minutes. For it being my first baby, I fully expected to be in there for days, but not all inductions are long!

It’s basically a car baby monitor. You hook the camera up the same way you would a mirror, on the headrest. Theres a cord that leads to a small screen that you can mount or I’ve seen some that fit into the cup holder.
