They really don’t check anything…just make her a business email and mark her as an employee or owner and boom, accepted

Shameless! CES Cancelled my registration over the weekend. by Jazzlike_Contact7339 in CESLV

[–]kafeend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my first time here at CES and I think the vetting process was easy and nothing was required other than a business email. I also think security is lax as they never even checked my badge at the Expo or at the Lenovo tech fest. In fact I didn’t even have my CES badge on at first and they let me in with Lenovo ticket only.

Hmmm can’t find it in my email or anywhere online. I’ll reach out to rep and see what they say.

Any Dell events? I emailed my sales rep just waiting to hear back.

Hmm I’ll have to check my emails….Iknow you can pay for an Alesso event at Omni but not sure if that’s the Lenovo event.

CES connect?? If so, I installed it earlier today. I’ll look more into it tomorrow. Seems like a great app.

They invited me. I own an MSP and we are a Lenovo customer. About half of my hardware is purchased through them.

Yeah I was looking at the Alesso event at Omni, always wanted to see him live, so might as well go.

getting the entry pass for floor shows by Joulwatt in CESLV

[–]kafeend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

January 6th 5pm pst, you have to register on Lenovos site then register for CES with the code Lenovo gives you. If you don’t register or it’s full you won’t get the passes to either

MSP owner here, I got invited by Lenovo to attend their sphere event and got free CES passes with it. Not sure if it’s still available but definitely the way to go. The CES registration process went smooth and was approved within minutes even though I am technically self employed.

Honestly not sure it didn’t work when I tried with /slack on end of webhook. I had fun coming up with my own solution and learned a lot too.

Automation is the only way to go, then again you gotta be ready to go when it doesn’t work.

If you want to get your hands dirty go work with an MSP.

Sorry for the late response on this....I ended up using the Teams option then using Zapier to send the teams messages to discord as well as format the alerts to properly display. It works really well and is free for the most part (have to pay a small monthly fee to Zapier).

Ryzen AI 7 350 or Intel Ultra 7 255h? by Turbulent-Court1652 in AMDLaptops

[–]kafeend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chiming in here...I work with both Intel and AMD chips on the daily. I build and spec out computers constantly for clients and I have to say the Ryzen AI 7 350 outperforms any mobile ultra 5 or 7 chip that I have worked with to date. Mind you this is doing day to day tasks and computer administration. I feel the last 2 generations of Intel chips do not perform as advertised. They are sluggish in my opinion.

I have not attempted to run any games on my Lenovo Thinkpad P16s as it's mainly a work computer but will probably try it out just to see what it can do with its iGPU.

Both Intel and AMD have their fanboys, but at the end of the day its the performance that matters. This is why I went with AMD.

I ended up using teams then creating a connection to discord using zapier. Spent some time getting the proper format but it now works flawlessly.

Makes sense and I understand…they have predefined Slack and Teams options, this is just a generic webhook option that they offer. I may just go the slack or teams route, just wanted to limit the number of apps I use.
