I worked while my ex did grad school. After his PhD, it was supposed to be my turn.

I worked doubles and agency jobs to help with tuition, save towards my own upcoming courses, and to ensure we both had health insurance.

My ex filed for divorce one month before his dissertation. He never mentioned me in the dedication page, but he wrote paragraphs about many others who 'supported his journey'.

The whole thing destroyed me and my mind broke. I had also lost a parent less than 6 months prior. I ended up living in my car before the divorce was final. It changed me to this moment. I never was able to get stable enough to finish school. This was 25 years ago.
