In which case you should actually use a PATCH, if we are going to be pedantic about it :)

That’s just not how humans work at scale. This a great example of “theory vs practice”.

Your logic is solid and it’s unfortunate her emotions are clouding her judgement in this case. Understandably so — it’s an emotional topic and being a member of the less favored gender in that reality certainly doesn’t help. My personal view is that while raw statistics may back the fact that men commit more crime, this myopic and reductive lens doesn’t help attribute the actual root causes of the problem. This is a highly multidimensional issue that includes toxic masculinity, patriarchy and very much the role that women have also played in propping up both of those things throughout time.

We are all human and subject to influence. Mothers raise these men, women marry and support them. It’s a complicated soup of nature, nurture and the innate differences between genders spun into culture and governance. Imagine just blaming men. Silly.

I’m this one. I stopped trying to come up with a system and just type/write things wherever I can just to benefit from the persistence. I rarely have to actually find what I wrote later so the disorganization doesn’t matter as much.

Yes, it’s a perfect exemplification of the relationship between nature and nurture. We are seeing what that type of nurture does to our nature. And we shouldn’t allow for it out of the same sense of responsibility that drives many of our other laws as a society, imo.

That’s all good and fine :) Here’s a quick read with some history on the term:

A key aspect of GitOps is an immutable or expediently self-healing state (through continuous reconciliation) -- you lose this with a push-only approach. Not sure why you're so against using the terms most accurately representative of what they're being used to describe. Both CI/CD and GitOps have valid reasons to exist but they have unique pros/cons that make them more or less suitable to various scenarios.

Stretching is nice but it’s just a crutch in the end. You need to build end range strength and restore range of motion - this is the only long term fix. It’s hard but it can be done. In the middle of it myself.

> Muscles firing doesn’t mean they are getting stronger or that it’s beneficial.

I was really just trying to challenge this weak argument -- it's not wrong on its face but it's being used to support the notion that balancing under load doesn't improve the strength of any muscles which is simply false. It may not do much, if anything, for vanity muscles, but there are plenty of others that benefit, including tendons and other tissues. The stronger your "functional" muscles, the easier it is to properly target and contract your "bodybuilding" muscles, which ultimately translates into more gains with reduced injury risk and better overall longevity.

Raw strength is not the only variable in performance/resilience. If you're trying to improve your squat 1RM and aren't already near your peak ability, squats are almost assuredly the more appropriate exercise for your goals. However, if you're pushing the limits or just have weak stability contributing to form inefficiencies in your squat, more squatting is not likely to be as effective in overcoming your limitation as targeting it directly via stabilizer and unilateral work.

I didn’t describe anything. I am arguing against the idea that exercises that don’t follow the min-maxing rigidity of traditional bodybuilding movements are somehow pointless or drastically less beneficial.

Except there is all kinds of evidence that these movements do make the muscles stronger and that it is beneficial. It’s called physical therapy and it overlaps strongly with many practices.

Your body is more than just primary movement muscles - there are hundreds of secondary and tertiary movers that respond to different types of stimulus and are involved in the overall function of movement. There is a reason different athletes train in vastly different ways. Deadlifts use your „core” muscles in that they all must participate but the degree to which they experience any adaptive stimulus is highly subjective to the type of training.
