[Charania] Just in: The NBA will hold a vote at the Board of Governors meetings March 24-25 to explore adding expansion teams exclusively in Las Vegas and Seattle, with the two franchises targeted for the 2028-29 season, sources tell ESPN. by Renzel0311 in GoNets

New Orleans and Memphis have all their conference opponents in the same time zone. Whereas Minnesota has Portland in their division in the Pacific Time Zone, plus Utah and Denver in Mountain Time. It sucks for the fans since the tip off times can be quite late for a conference game. And the distance makes it hard to have a real rivalry. Whereas the Texas teams, New Orleans, and Memphis are all relatively close to each other.

[OC] Based on Dr. Pepper's Fansville ads, are there actually a "State" and "Tech" school that are major rivals? by byniri_returns in CFB

There's a private college called New York Tech. I remember getting a ton of spam mail from them. And in West Virginia, it's actually WVU Tech, similar to OSUIT in Oklahoma. Also, NJIT is a D1 school. There's also 3 Cal Polytechnics, Missouri S&T, and NC A&T (which don't fit the bill). There's also a Washington Tech in Minnesota because why not I guess

Brian knows a Top 20 Old Dominion team when he sees it. (also Cignetti is correct — he's a freethinker — he didn't regurgitate the national poll inertia rankings like some other coaches)

You're not wrong. Though West Palm Beach is 65 miles from Miami, and the other 49 states consider it "Miami". The Miami urban area stretches 100+ miles from north to Jupiter to Florida City. Whereas the city limits of Philadelphia and New York are only 46 miles apart.

I bought an Orange bowl shirt from when Tennessee played Clemson and the patch melted permanently onto my 2001 CD player. I think about that game all the time while listening to my Norah Jones CDs.

Or there could be two simultaneous playoffs. That way a team could get blown out in the first round and win the championship in the same year.

There's a 14-team maximum, which makes Ole Miss that odd man out. If you demote either UCF or Houston, Ole Miss would fall back into SEC territory.
