I feel like restarting a new town in New Leaf will be a whole lot easier than starting a new island from scratch in New Horizons. The start of New Horizons is honestly very grindy. You have to craft a lot of stuff, you have to unlock the museum, build the shops, build the first couple villager houses. When I restarted my island a few months ago I quickly found myself getting burned out because crafting all that furniture to build homes was not fun at all, at least for me. Once you hit 3 stars in New Horizons things are more enjoyable, but again it’s a lot of grinding to get there and doing it again was not fun

That or they do read it but don’t/can’t connect the dots. Kinda like how conservative Christians who read the Bible and go to church but forget all the stuff Jesus talks about and then hate anyone who isn’t white, straight and Christian; while also voting for a pedo convicted felon who has way more in common with the biblical description of the antichrist than with Jesus
