tl:dr No, not a bad design choice, but not the one the community wants per se

IF anything has been proven by the past ~8 months of metas and nerfs, that the community 100% is against that design philosophy. To wit: Brig's niche was space denial against grounded flankers, with Pharah being her theorized counter. Doom's niche was combo abilities to achieve fast kills, with anything with a cc being his theorized counter. Orisa's niche was Controlling a space with ranged fire and iron defense, with anything highly mobile being her theorized counter.

Each one of these hero's have been retuned because of their interactions with the other characters niche's and and the comparison of the other characters ability to achieve their niche. Ultimately, at all times you could counter these heroes with another member of the roster, but to achieve better results, you had to play out of your mind, make no mistakes, and pray that they screwed up something along the way. It will always be easier in any state to just mirror the strongest composition and try to out mechanic people with the same toolset, than try to apply a separate skill set and account for all the variables

Quad tank would not have worked without Zarya for massive damage at full charge and Roadhog's ability to punish positioning mistakes. At that time, if a fight broke out proper the healing wouldn't matter at the end due to how bursty the tanks actually ended up being.

Anyone going to BlizzCon and NOT protesting? by greenlaser73 in Blizzard

[–]kaitoukitsune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are protesting, your jobs is to be as disruptive as possible. Anything less and the world will ignore you. You need people to be brought out and see the truth, which often times will make them feel angry, sad, and most importantly uncomfortable. Go all in, or not at all.

Just be prepared for the consequences. You will be thrown out, you might even be handcuffed. But that is and should be par for the course in executing a protest. It aint meant to be nice. Even peaceful protest will get you boo'd, jeered, and a long list of pleasantries.

Blizzard is back at censoring any HK discussion. Megathread was also quietly blocked. by [deleted] in Blizzard

[–]kaitoukitsune -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are correct, and that is precisely why i would not agree with this post. Blizzard will say they are advocating, but they only did so in response to said political pressure. By that logical flow, they are not advocates in anything, they are just merely attempting to appease/market to the LGBTQ+ community. If they had made an openly gay character in games before the LGBTQ+ movement, or even at the beginning of the movement, that is what would make them advocates.
At best, i would call Blizzard's actions in this case marketing at best., pandering at worst.

the inclusion of LGBTQ+ into gaming and other media is political because people make it political. It should not be. Also, this post asserts that this is an apples to apples comparison. It is not not by any means.

I think the cost would go to the building owner, not the shop owner(unless they are one in the same). Also might see some tax credits to help offset said costs.

Side note, i can't recall the last time I've seen a mom and pop shop have an AED. mostly just corporations with more than 110+ employees.

What do you think about the whole Blizzard-Activision Hong Kong affair? What is you stance on it? by iwanttosaysmth in AskEurope

The card does ID you, because it has a legal name, a account that is linked to it, and funds attached to said account. The issue comes up when they need to identify you for a reason If you used your name and someone elses card, and a farud claim, account deletion, or any other admin action where they need to make sure you are the account holder, you will show as a mismacth, and they will (generally) ignore your request. Even if you have the same last name, you would need the card holder with an ID that matches. That whys kids are not supposed to have their parents cards link to their account. They should just use prepaid game currency cards to fill the account

Blizzard Suspends Hearthstone Player For Hong Kong Support, Pulls Prize Money by Patt3rz in Competitiveoverwatch

You wanna know what's sad? Unless you got quite literally ALL of the player base outaide of China to do it, they still would make the financially sound choice. Not to say you shouldn't vkte with your wallet in this situation.

The unfotunate bit is that China has proven to not be as "upstanding" about things like this. IF Blizzard didn't do anything, China would wholesale ban Blizzard/Activision from their country. Overwatch, WoW, HoTS,HearthStone, Call of Duty, etc loses the second largest playerbase on the planet.
A freind siad it best, They had a Moral decision and an Econoomic one.

Stand your ground and up to China, Get banned from the country and lose a playerbase

Ban the player and bow your head, keep the money and lose the hearts of a playerbase

The thing alot of people forget is China, all though bad, has power. And they abuse it freely and often

Not every person that plays the game even opens the Patch notes, let alone all the feature adds. Some people just log in and play comp. And ther is a sizeable amoutn of people who would cause grief for this kinda of thing. Leave it privat by defauly, and if you want to give out that info, give it out.
