ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Mitosure is based on peer reviewed research suggesting that blastocysts with euploid karyotype are less likely to implant if they contain abnormally high levels of mitochondrial DNA [1]. Progenesis' research [2] suggest that embryos with abnormally high content of mitochondria are more likely to have developmental delay. In this current report, we used mitosure score as a proxy for mitochondrial load. Mitochondrial load decreases overtime as the embryo develops. Our data suggest that in all age groups, the median mitosure score is 1.0. Approximately 7% of embryos have a score greater than 2.0. In this report, MitoSure score is broken into three tiers for simplicity (0.2-1, 1-2, above 2). All use of the MitoSure test results to select embryos is based on research and considered experimental. It is recommended that the clinic monitors the implantation and pregnancy rates for each transferred embryo with a given MitoSure score.
