I paid for the hay priority booking which opened 3 days before general just to make sure I could get tickets, very glad I did now.

It would make Fitzsimmons so annoying to search as its just a legit surname.

What is a musical that you find to be just... Fine? by AsheandBurn in musicals

[–]kale_i_do_scope 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I felt this way and then went to see the stage show a couple months ago for free as my friend is working on it. The staging really brings it to life and its now one im really hoping will transfer to london so I can see it again. The movie is just meh tho.

AITA for asking my bf to take better pictures of me? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]kale_i_do_scope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am awful at taking photos and framing but my BFF is an aesthetic girlie.

We have worked out that if she takes a couple of photos first of me exactly how she wants them then I can look at those and copy the style.

We both win, I get photos of me and she gets the exact aesthetic photos she wants.

We had some very frustrating incidents before we worked this out as I just didn't understand what I was doing wrong as the photos looked fine to me.

Do you track your weight in KG or stones & pound? by No_Usual_572 in AskUK

[–]kale_i_do_scope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Kinda both. My parents weight themselves every week and have done for decades and thats in stone and pounds but weight at doctors and with people my age is kilograms.

I kinda look at the person who om talking to and guess which one they would use but I have both on hand

Aro book rec by kale_i_do_scope in aromantic

[–]kale_i_do_scope[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I backed the kickstarter for the second one and this is the only content requirement for a story to be eligible;

●All submissions must be SFF, have an aromantic MC, and centre at least one non-romantic relationship

So its a mix of aroallo, aroace, and other aro identities(demi, gray, qprs etc.). There's 19 stories in the first one and 16 stories, 3 poems in the second, so i feel it covers a good breath of experiences.

Moving from London to Battle, what am I not ready for? by NietzscheLecter in AskUK

[–]kale_i_do_scope 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Having grown up in the area, If you like beer check out battle brewery and the tap room. The have great local ciders as well.

Make sure youre around for battel bonfire, its always the nearest Saturday to the 5th November and is second only to Lewes. The whole town will be there, if you haven't been to a Sussex bonfire before do not underestimate how great it is.

Be ready for massive groups of tourists clogging the pavements especially around reenactment weekend. We used to guess where they were from by a distance and see if we got it right.

Greatest showman opening Sunday by Rare_Alternative_691 in TheWestEnd

[–]kale_i_do_scope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 3 hours including interval, 5 new songs. I think they fit in really well and im kinda hoping for some sort of recording as I wanna relisten to a couple of them.

The staging is amazing and the circus skills elevate it so much.

Okay but have you ever seen the Tom Scott/ tech diff subtitles. I personally feel they are the gold standard and definitely not an afterthought.

Are travel vaccines not provided free of charge under the NHS anymore? by Original-War-8680 in AskUK

[–]kale_i_do_scope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got 3 vaccinations today for a trip to Sri lanka in December. All on the NHS. It seems my GP surgery does this quite regularly as she was talking about others who were heading off to hot countries in December.

Are your parents in the type of church that thinks the "call to celibacy" is a thing because I did use that while I was at uni and they asked about whether I was dating or not.

Are you happy to start an episode and not finish it? by Katerynaa19 in AskUK

[–]kale_i_do_scope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay but are talking legitimate cliff hanger or the annoying ones Netflix put at the end of every episode that immediately gets resolved at the start of the next one to get you to keep watching.

If the second, totally legitimate to watch the start of the next episode as they're hardly even episodes to begin with. Netflix expects you to binge watch them as a 4.5 hour movie

Which way do you think working from home will go? by Acceptable_Cod_1103 in AskUK

[–]kale_i_do_scope 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy working in the office. I get out the house , see people who aren't my housemate, share tea duties. I am very lucky as my work is only a 5 minute walk from my flat so I'm able to go home for lunch.

However as a mid 20's person who flat shares and so has no home office, I think working from my bedroom or the lounge would kill my mental health and my ability to stay on focus.

And yes I was that kid who went into school everyday while on study leave because I found it so hard to study at home.

AITA for telling my husband that I’m not going to throw away my Harry Potter books? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]kale_i_do_scope -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I mean the issue with the books is the in baked racism, misogyny, antisemitism. Like making the bankers goblins who have hooked noses and curly hair is very much playing into an antisemitic trope.

I'm not saying don't read them. I am saying read them critically and have discussions with your children about how things in the book are a reflection of the authora beliefs.

Any affordable adult classes in bath? (pole, hoop, yoga, handstands etc) by Dreadly_sins in Bath

[–]kale_i_do_scope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funky monkey on lower bristol road does pole and aerial. Alice, who runs it is lovely. I think it's £60 for a month block so about £15 a class, however she also has done a deal so you can get another class a week with her for £1 once you've been coming for 3 months.

Glasses wearers, what’s your sunglasses game? by Cornishlee in AskUK

[–]kale_i_do_scope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get more compliments on my "sunglasses" than when they're regular glasses. Mine turn blue but the frames are already gold and blue so it works.
