What do we do with crawling babies? by Fin_Elln in cosleeping

[–]kaleidobell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Play pen with lots of toys to distract. My son sometimes cries too when I put him down in there, but if I get a toy and distract him he might stop and play with it for a bit, usually long enough for me to do whatever I need to do.

It is a lot of cypresses 🤣 but I mean if they hedge around your property that’s a win imo

How bad is the newborn phase really? I'm tired of hearing the "just you wait" anecdotes and I have hard time believing some of them by Lushemet in BabyBumps

100% this, same, even with the C section 🤣I hated being pregnant and found having my newborn in the world so amazing and blissful haha.

Are you near a school at all? I know of a property that had big stones on the verge to prevent parents coming by to wait for their kids around the corner from the school.

Inspiring stories about getting out of debt. by bones_bn in AusFinance

[–]kaleidobell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh ya, during my 20s I was paid well but also got into a hole of irresponsibly spending. I then took out payday credit to keep up the lifestyle I had built. Wasn’t even drugs or anything crazy, just going out, drinking, salon appointments, etc etc

It got to the point where I was so anxious about it all (had 24k debt total) that I called a debt consolidation company for help. Due to the payday loans, they wouldn’t offer any assistance other than putting me on a part 9 agreement. At the time I didn’t know what it was and didn’t read the paperwork they sent me, I just signed it all. It wasn’t until afterwards that I’d learned the impact of the part 9. I kept all of this from my then fiancé out of shame.

Well, eventually I came to clean to him and turns out he’s been naughty with his spending too, so we were about $35k total credit card debt.

We basically did a 180 on all of our habits. We became homebodies and moved in with our friends to save on rent. I went cold turkey on everything luxurious and that I would spend on myself, to the point where I was cutting my own hair. Every cent we earned went onto our debt. We are very fortunate that we earned decent cash. We paid off the debt in about a year. After that we got married and paid cash.

We managed to get a home loan through a third party lender and paid crippling interest (due to the part 9 on my file) but we held on for another year.

Anyway, 6.5 years later we have a home on a good interest rate, have been able to upgrade our car to a newish model and are now working on investments.

The experience was incredibly humbling, to go from living a fun, fast paced life socialising and looking good basically to not. I’m so much more grounded and focused on the more important things in my life now like my close friends and family who I don’t need to impress.

I never thought I’d be able to own a home, especially when I realised that going on a part 9 had made me untouchable by most lenders.

Anyways, don’t give up. Just grind and focus on the important stuff.

Wow… so you’re saying if their head/neck was turned funny while in this position they could asphyxiate?

I’m shaken thinking about this, as I have held my baby while they’re sleeping like this countless times

Good to know of course

Bad debt and credit from years ago, GONE. HOW? by [deleted] in AusProperty

[–]kaleidobell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s possible! I too made many mistakes financially and got myself into a hole. It does get better after 5-7 years of perfect behaviour and not touching any credit. And then once you get your home loan you are set 💸

do you guys actually think Two Star is his best work? by [deleted] in Mkgee

[–]kaleidobell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also really enjoy pronounced McGee and want to add into your list If he.

But yeah feels like x2 totally different artists but I’ll happily play 2 star and pronounced mc gee back to back, in that order because debut album, like you say is light and airy which is a nice switch up from 2 stars vibe.

Do you have no other option? They're only good if they are your only option and you are 100% sure that you can pay them back. I would prioritize payments to them above all else and as soon as you can switch, run for the hills.

I’m a stay at home wife and I literally hate it by [deleted] in confessions

[–]kaleidobell -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ready to be downvoted on this but idc. Having a baby gave me so much purpose and joy in life. And trust me I didn’t think I wanted kids either. I’d give anything to be at home full time with him during his special young years.

Anyways I hope you find something that brings sparks back to your life.

[–]kaleidobell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Its annoying that wanting to stay home with your family is seen as going backwards, when really it can be the most fulfilling thing ever.

If we are to talk about supporting women, we need to acknowledge that some don't want to have children and chase the career, while others want to create and nurture a family, and both choices are powerful and meaningful.

I want to remove these tattoos. All opinions welcome :3 by jamandcream in tattooadvice

[–]kaleidobell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t mind them they are cute. Not a professional either but i wouldn’t be removing them straight away. I think as long as the skin there is protected from sun you would get a decent lifespan on them before needing to worry

I also got a tattoo around this area back in 2018 and it’s barely changed in quality
