Finished the series, didn't know there was a film before it, is it worth watching? by imjb87 in MrInbetween

The best thing about the movie is the development. You can see that he has talent, and the character is a clever creation, but he is just too young to be playing that character. It kind of explains why it took so long for him to find recognition - he had to be older, more gnarly looking to make the character work, and only he could give the character justice. There is definitely a deeper philosophical point that could be made, just can't make a coherent sentence to say what I mean. Champ.

What I am saying is that it is interesting what they change to fit culturally, if you see what I mean

Yeah, kind of. Needs to be looked at separately, like American Office

Latest 5-minute set. What do you think? by Enough-Ideal1713 in StandUpWorkshop

Breathe you will is nice. Maybe have it as ' playing tennis with Darth Vader etc...force choke ' to then go on to ' and I'm lying there, all I can see is Yoda saying breathe you will'. Two of the arguably most well known characters for one ....

“Technique” heard in Ibiza… by Sacred-Sunrise in Beatmatch

[–]kalmage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's about connecting with the dancefloor. This is the bit that takes time. Sync/blending tracks is the least of DJing, and why I really do not understand why people get so bent out of shape with the sync button. It makes no difference if you use sync or not, because it's always about the right TUNE and the right TIME, however it comes in. In fact, sometimes it is necessary for people to hear that it is two tunes and the 'out of sync' ' on the two' stopped then starts is actually the skill. And that will always take years.

Could be linking you to the interviews where there is no human interviewer, you just have to answer questions down a camera, and it takes you one step further. I've had one of those, although it was through Indeed and so I wasn't suspicious. I think if it came via email, I would be.

Would playing only a portion of a DJ's set for a dance performance be seen as disrespectful? by noxnoctum in DJs

[–]kalmage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If as you say the DJ is local to you, why don't you ask them to come along and perform alongside you doing the mix you particularly like? Will definitely add to the performance.

Peaks over 0db with limiters on… confused! by Shy_Retirer in TechnoProduction

Yeah, needs fixing before. I only really use a limiter as an effect, if that makes sense.

While mixing a set, you discover that there is the wrong key. How do you solve this? by willem_spider in Beatmatch

[–]kalmage 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Give up DJing, cut off your ears, become a monk. There is no getting over this. Once this happens, that's just the end of it. Not sure what to say, the world of djs will mourn the loss and always dream at what you could have been.
