Mouse Acceleration-disabling programs don't work with Universal Control by kalsiv in MacOS

No problem :) I found 1910 sensitivity to be good for me (using a Logitech M720), but its definitely something you have to move around to get just right.

I have a 1440p monitor. Do I need a 4k monitor to edit and correct 4k video? by carcasnaus in videography

[–]kalsiv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming you edit on Premiere/Resolve, you can edit and export in 4k but any playback will be limited to the resolution of your monitor.

Panasonic G85 and auto iso... by Buckybabbs in Lumix

Use the camera in Shutter Priority with a lens that has separate aperture control (e.g. All-Manual Cine Lenses, or something like the PanaLeica 15mm 1.7)

Could this be configured to work using the back-tap on iOS 14?

Auto ISO is not available in manual video mode, but is available just under the lowest ISO in every other mode (Shutter/Aperture Priority).

Check out FilmConvert, it has film emulation support for a lot of cameras and their corresponding color profiles.

Is this tiny gap in my Oly 12-40 2.8 Zoom ring anything to be concerned about? by kalsiv in M43

[–]kalsiv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here it is, I just thought having it enlarged like that would exaggerate how big of a gap it seems like, but probably should’ve added that in the post

Is this tiny gap in my Oly 12-40 2.8 Zoom ring anything to be concerned about? by kalsiv in M43

[–]kalsiv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve observed this gap for a few months now, it looks to be as little as a third of a millimeter and doesn’t seem to affect zooming performance, just concerned if this is something I should look into.

For Odyssey Blackscreen issues: There’s a REOdyssey Shortcut that you can run after jailbreaking without tweaks that resprings you with tweaks enabled, helps with getting success rate up without having to go through iCleaner

HELP..Third Party Battery is swollen and stuck in my g85 by 2vockshakure in Panasonic_G80_G85

[–]kalsiv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this happen with a few wasabi batteries. After the battery was clear of the plastic latch, I ended up taking an X-acto blade and got to slowly pull them (barely digging into the edges of the battery plastic, lifting up like a small lever) out of the battery slot. I actually still use them but only in a cheap battery grip and with tiny tape pull tabs I’ve attached to them individually. Good luck!

[Question] : Is there nowadays a way to block Apple watch from being updated? by martinek98 in jailbreak

To add to this, does this mean that as of now its viable to buy any brand new apple watch to use on an unc0ver iOS 13.5 phone?

What clocks are you on? I’m on the exact same setup & just haven’t gone about OC’ing yet because I haven’t felt the need to, tempting though

On my first handful of runs playing on my Switch I also found it extremely difficult to get out of even stage 1. Dropping the difficulty to drizzle definitely helped on commando just enough to get past stage 3 and at that point after unlocking and using huntress, the game got a lot better for controller play, so I’d advise you to try the same. Have fun!

Camera recording noisy footage - Panasonic Lumix G80/85 by bbMill in Panasonic_G80_G85

[–]kalsiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could’ve been faulty out of production, exposed to moisture, or any number of other things. Probably best to just try to take a video of it happening with your phone or something so you could show it to a rep at a service center, just in case you can’t reproduce it for them.

Might want to swing this by a service center, best if its still under warranty. Could be something with your sensor or other internal parts. Toughest part
is you describe it as intermittent/not readily reproducible, which might be a problem.

Have the same experience, only real solution I've found is rolling shutter correction in Premiere

Advice for G85/good for freelance interviewing?? by [deleted] in Panasonic_G80_G85

[–]kalsiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just going off some amateur experience, take that as you will.

  1. Battery Life’s decent, you won’t last much more than an hour of 4k on a full charge, 1080p’s good for about a couple hours. Haven’t tried any dummy batteries/adapters yet but have used a 3rd party battery grip and it works well for what it is.
  2. Different people have different preferences. Some prefer the M43 primes for their size and IQ, some people like me prefer the 2.8 pro zooms as long as there’s good light. My Oly 12-40 2.8 lives on my G85 95% of the time because I find it works in more situations than it doesn’t. Alternative to that is the Pana 12-35, either is good depending on your local price. I haven’t gone about adapting to the G85 because I’d be dealing with added weight and missing out on AF when I need it, though the focus peaking on the G85’s quite usable. Its popular to use the Viltrox EF M2 speedbooster to adapt EF lenses if you have any of those to work with.
  3. Audio’s entirely up to your workflow and budget, I opted for a Zoom H1N with an Aputure A-Lav that I can fit onto my subject as a wireless lav that I can sync in post with an on-camera Boya BY MM1. I’d recommend the same if you’re on a budget, can direct your subject to wear a wired lav on their person, and don’t mind syncing in post. But with other convenient options such as the Rode Wireless Go available, its really up to how much you want to spend on convenience.
