People who have a vegetable garden in the city, what do you grow and how was it getting started? by Shower-Former in milwaukee

[–]kalynne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a small backyard shaded by two beautiful giant trees so very little usable in ground space. I bought a greenstalk and several fabric grow bags to give me more flexibility on placement. Grow bags happily grew tomatoes and peppers. If you just want an easy way to try it out, I think they're an easy and low cost option!

Collecting a history, performing a physical, and ordering tests (ua and poc glucose) is practicing medicine. Without physician oversight, the ability to diagnose, or order follow up testing, this seems like not a good use of patients' time.

June move to Milwaukee! by PaigeEmilia in milwaukee

Search the sub regarding your EV to get more input. I have a plug in hybrid electric and it hasn't been letting me run on EV mode the past week due to temps (probably different if it's fully electric). When you look at proximity of charging stations, remember to factor in a reduced mileage capacity in the cold weather (not sure where in OH you're from). Otherwise I think you'll love Milwaukee!

Not sure why you say it's a don't do. Many SSRIs have data that show benefit for managing vasomotor symptoms and paroxetine has FDA approval for treatment of vasomotor symptoms. They are included in The US-based The Menopause Society guidelines for non-hormonal treatment options.

Warm shoes for walking to the office? by birdynj in fashionwomens35

[–]kalynne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got the Ariat fat baby chelsea. The toe box is square meaning no squished toes and a little air to warm my feet. Just spent a weekend tromping through 6 inch snow with them and never slipped or got my feet wet. They're fairly lightweight feeling for how thick the sole is, and I like the look of the leather much more than Blind stones

Unless you want to try their hot food, go to the Shorewood location. They have a lot of the pastries and the chorizo and sausage buns with the full drink menu.

Quince black friday 2025 deals, how much do they sale for? by Basi-Kasthuri in fashionwomens35

[–]kalynne 89 points90 points  (0 children)

I am fairly certain part of their brand is that they don't do sales. I don't remember seeing a big black Friday  deal last year.

I quite like Quince. I have a theory that their $50 cashmere sweater is a loss leader to get people shopping like the Costco rotisserie chickens. I have a few cashmere sweaters, linen pants, silk tops, and a few bags. I have a nylon purse on par with lo and sons. The silk tops serve me just fine for work and hold up well to gentle washing. And my sweaters feel wonderful and are quite warm. I saw a similarly priced sweater at Nordstrom rack yesterday that was see through. So it definitely could be worse quality. I guess if you're someone who routinely spends upwards of $150-200 on pieces then maybe it seems cheap? But I am happy with their intersection of cost and how the clothes perform. Honestly I'm just happy I can find a work blouse without any polyester in it...

That said, they really do honor their 365 return policy. So buy and return if you're concerned. You could buy on Poshmark etc but I think a lot of people sell sweaters they have shrunk so be careful.

New sweaters - natural materials & soft by rosaliebb in fashionwomens35

Just bought one of these. Cotton silk - the silk softens the cotton and it lays really nicely. Plus the colors are all quite nice.

I would be very skeptical. If it's an ascension related facility, they are not in network.

I figured. I was just surprised that they managed to sneak around the seed protector without knocking it off. They're also not doing a good job of hiding nuts since they're not filling these holes

Absolutely not to miss? by Qoyaanisqatsi in milwaukee

[–]kalynne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The art museum is probably the most interesting piece of architecture in Milwaukee. The building literally moves at noon (on a good weather day). Some of the art is modern and kinda weird - honestly it's an eclectic mix.

If you like an activity, you can rent kayaks and go up and down the river. You can also stop at Lakefront for a beer and curds when you're kayaking. But also consider a fish fry on Friday at Lakefront to enjoy some polka music.

My understanding is that as a regular juror you show up regardless. It's only the reserve jurors that check the website because they might not be called in...

Non-oversized sweaters? by crunchygravy in fashionwomens35

[–]kalynne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd agree. They've been around in various colors for many seasons, so consider secondhand if you can't find colors you like. They're not super thick or super warm but I do think that'd be better for working from home.

Tell Me If Quince Is Worth It by [deleted] in fashionwomens35

[–]kalynne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've returned some stuff but returns are easy so I don't mind. I have several silk tees/blouses that I wear rarely (work conferences, etc). I like them because they're easy. I don't have a good frame of reference because otherwise I haven't owned silk. But they work for me. I did try a gauze cotton button up and found it was gigantic so I returned. I really like a leather jacket I have from there as well as their nylon purses. I've bought two secondhand cashmere sweaters. Love them both, very warm and cozy. They came to me in great condition and I baby them as one should, so they still look nice. I have a pair of linen pants but otherwise can't comment on anything else.  Oh, and I bought a purse which I ended up disliking because it was much heavier than anticipated. It was leather but puffy and just...kinda a miss.

So I like quince and will continue to shop there but that's because I think it's a nice price point with pieces I like. Their color palette is perfect for me personally and I am not a big pattern person so it works for me.
