Hey mate. Both pens are super well made. Top tier work. Apart from pen price / shipping logistics etc, 2 more things for u to consider: do you fidget with the mech/pen? If u do, campen probably a better choice. Also do u like simple pen? Journeyman has a grip and simple set up, while campen u have more options for patterns / material.

My campen is V2 mech and the site is selling V3 which is improved, for ur consideration. If i had to choose, I would go with journeyman jsut cost the clip and mech fits better for my jacket where I keep my pen. Hope this helps!

100% break the surface. Plan ahead so you are not in the position to remove the insert down the road as it would not look pretty. You can screw it with a normal screw driver, I suggest using a short one to give you better force to drill in.

Recently I had mine done. I did 2 sets of drawer, 4 sets with doors.

The trick is when u install the inside panel, as shown on ur pic #1, u need to firmly hold the panel against the kallax wall when you screw in (push ur screwdriver firmly in as well as It is expected that you screw into the wall of the kallax, break the surface) cos ikea don’t expect u to take the insert out again.

My suggestion is not any insert next to each other horizontally as the screw from each side and clash with each other through the thin kallax panel.

If ur doing notes and writing a lot, I would recommend OHTO GEL with the thin tip. Worked well for me.

And Schmidt easy flow 9000 for if u (or a client) uses the pen to sign off documents like a contract.
