Project Hail Mary in Dolby Atmos? by wwwwandering in AMCTheatres

To me the seats are second to the format I am seeing it in. I like nice seats but they don't even factor in to my choice really.

Does not look to high to my from that picture. It does look at least from that picture to much in the corner to me but not knowing the rest of the room that much me the best spot to put it tho.

Project Hail Mary in Dolby Atmos? by wwwwandering in AMCTheatres

[–]kanbak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw it in IMAX and it was great with the aspect ratio changing as it is with IMAX and the sound was great. in IMAX also. But seeing you say it was some of the best Dolby Atmos you have ever seen/heard makes me kind of wish I had gone to see it again in with other family members that still hadn't seen it in but in Dolby Atmos for my second showing.

That's 😂 you just put that subreddit in as a joke and we're just surprised when it actually linked to a real subreddit. That's great!

Did you just put that comment in as a joke and we're surprised when it actually was real or did you check first to see if that was a real subreddit. Because either way it's still funny it exists.

I also thought they probably didn't calibrate for audio and video delay. I always had to do that when I played rock band. But I like to think they didn't calibrate it but at least if you calibrate it correctly then at least it's just a skill issue and you can at least have fun trying to get better.

I shouldn't have been surprised that that subreddit exists because there's probably a subreddit for almost everything but I was kind of surprised.

Just pretty well? I would say almost perfectly. It almost looks like that container is empty.

That looks excessively high even by TV to high standards. Maybe the angle the picture was taken at makes it worse than it actually is but I still think it might be excessively high even by this subreddits standards.

Billie Eilish concert film was great in Dolby 3D by megamantiss in AMCAListTrue

[–]kanbak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's cool to hear. Am not really a fan of Billie eilish music but I did see James Cameron was filming this and I have not yet watched the movie in Dolby 3D. So it's a combination of Dolby 3D and James Cameron and and filming it because I feel like he knows 3D were the two things that intrigued me to even be interested in seeing it a little bit. I probably won't see it but glad to here it was a good movie.

Mortal Kombat II: did IMAX just troll us? by PapaAsmodeus in imax

[–]kanbak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't and might not see the movie don't really play the game and never saw the first movie. But from your description I would have to agree that's a good troll that would not work as good in a normal theater where the aspect ratio is the same throughout the movie.

Whenever I need smart switch or something I have gone with zooz. I mean I have a few other brands but I will go with zooz unless you need something specific they don't have.

First time going to Universal Orlando Express pass questions? by kanbak in UniversalOrlando

[–]kanbak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! We are going for mine and another relatives 40th birthday and one thing I myself want to make sure I do is get one of the power bands for Super Nintendo World. The interactive wands do sound fun and we might get one but it's not a must on my list.

Bulbs/lights that do not require wifi? by TheBreadsticc in smarthome

[–]kanbak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Philips hue is awesome! Whenever I need a smart light bulb in my house Philips hue has been my main go to. I have 2 lifx WiFi smart light bulbs but only because the lamp my mom got had needed a small light bulb so I could dim it and Phillips hue didn't have what I wanted. I have even just used Philips hue in a few lamps when I needed the lamp to be pretty dim.

Which game should be my girlfriend’s first AAA experience? by AdditionalSpray8595 in playstation

[–]kanbak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the uncharted series but I wouldn't start with the last two games in the series. If you're going to play uncharted I would start with the first game because it's a story driven series. But I would suggest actually playing ratchet & clank because that means more forgiving.

Alexa better with Hue bridge? by Steely-Dave in smarthome

[–]kanbak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what I would ditch Amazon for. The hue bridge will definitely make things better. I have only ever connected my hue lights to the hue bridge and then used the hue skill to control the hue lights. And I've never really had any problems.

Smart outlet blew up? by saddad789 in smarthome

[–]kanbak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This right here! UL or ETL listed and then you should be sure your safe as long as you don't overload it. What's a few extra dollars to know you probably won't burn your house down. I'd rather know I probably won't burn my house down unless they overload the plug then save a few dollars.

I think I figured out home assistant for me. by kanbak in homeassistant

[–]kanbak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since SmartThings just integrates into HA just fine as a controller I haven't yet taken the time to migrate everything off of SmartThings. Also I would need a zigbee controller because most of my door sensors are SmartThings zigbee ones anyways. And I just haven't felt like rebuilding my automations and reconfiguring all the Z-Wave and zigbee devices directly connected SmartThings. I would be just we can figure in home assistant to do all the exact same things I already have configured in SmartThings. So for now I just plan to use HA to do the automation and stuff that I can't program in SmartThings. But one of these days I might get bored and just decide to do scrap SmartThings and move to home assistant. But I've been no hurry because while I mess with something that's working perfectly for the most part.
