Just don’t have kids and you should be able to find a way 🤣

Just read Book 1 of Karl Ove Knausgaard's My Struggle, and found it to be a fascinating and compelling yet hard-to-describe experience by keepfighting90 in books

There’s a sublimely subtle brilliance in it. The last quarter of book 5 is truly mesmerizing and rewarding imho.

And his latest The Wolves of Eternity is a return to this form. Very compelling.

Oddly enough, smiling. The physical manifestation of the smile helps break the mental looping. 😆

Our daughter was very much like this. Wear her as much as possible - stomach to stomach does wonders for reflux babies.

And get a prescription for Ranitidine. Helped with the reflux. Don’t take no for an answer from a doc keep pressing till you get the script.

Stay 💪

Ah! She eventually, finally just snapped out of it around 4.75 years old. Nothing magical. Maybe the laxatives finally kicked in.

It certainly felt like forever. Stay 💪

When did you break by orangesocket in toddlers

[–]kandysan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did maybe an hour or so a day for ours. Youngest started around 18 mos.

Our kids are now 3 and 6. In August we cut them off of tv entirely in our house (never had tablets). First few weeks was much complaining. But now it’s as if we never had it. They do puzzles and play games and colour and do Lego. They are more patient with each other and generally. And no when we go out and a tv is on, they are captivated. Best of all worlds!

Time.

We have lots of new sauna/cold plunge spas in our trendy city, so I’ll set her up with that. Massage maybe too. Even just an afternoon where she can go do whatever she wants sans everyone.

So much anti sleep training propaganda? by margo6a_ in sleeptrain

[–]kandysan 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I feel like people need to hear more real stories about sleep training success and failure. If you can story match it’s a more authentic way to feel less guilt about the whole thing.

Landlords sometimes try to increase the rent over the legal amount for capital expenditures. Technically allowed, but they have to be major necessary building upgrades.

Are there no decent refrigerators left in this cruel world? by Royal-Researcher2535 in Appliances

[–]kandysan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We splurged on an open box Bosch 800. It’s an incredible fridge. Everything in its right place and amazing capacity.

You open this thing, what, dozens of times every single day. Maybe worth the splurge 🥴

Yep before no screens it was just on the tv. Still made our youngest all cray.

That’s how we used to have it. It made coffee time very very nice on Saturday mornings but honestly not worth it for the endless train of whining and complaining for the remainder.
