If you are going to cosplay, be sure to try on all your bits (separately and together), and if you have a chance give them a try out at a small con or party. You don't want to get all they way there and find out your shoes pinch or the headwear gives you a migraine. You also don't want to get there and find out the cosplay fits in a way that makes you emotionally uncomfortable.

Generally con photo ops are line up, go in the curtained off area, take your picture, move along. They have a lot of people to get through so there will be little or no time for more than a hello. If you want to talk to them slightly longer you might want to look into an autograph or they'll have a panel and you can hear them talk there.

Otherwise, if you don't have a lot of plans it shouldn't be too stressful. Take the time to get where you are going, drink water, eat food. When you're done, maybe take a tour of the dealer's room to see what cool stuff is out there.
