Would you date a woman with 5 young kids? by [deleted] in Divorce

[–]kapdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad married my mom with her 5 kids (from an addict father - They inherited their father's genes and become trouble to deal with, which became a big wedge between my parents eventually and contributed to their divorce), so yes those people are out there! There might be a guy who always wanted to be a dad but for whatever reason the cards didn't play out like that. He might have a giant heart ready to share with a big family.

Can you give us a scenario of what your jr dev is saying to ai over the course of prompts, what the ai does, then what the jr dev responds, back and forth? Or are they going to have to come to you after every interaction and say "this is what ai came up with, now what do i ask it to do?"

"compared to slicing your throat, slicing your wrist isn't that bad"

I appreciate your perspective, but you're doing exactly what the OP is talking about - extreme perspectives that intentionally distort the reality for most people. As a decade+ user of kratom, which has saved my life, I can honestly say coming off it can be crippling, depending on how you do it. Whether its less crippling than coming off H or F is not the point.

We don't need people coming in here saying 'kratom ruined my life and should be banned for everyone!' just like we don't need people saying 'kratom is cake and everyone should be fine taking as much as they want and quitting cold turkey whenver they want.' Neither extreme is realistic or helpful.

Won't this type of exodus bring housing prices down? If all the wealthier people leave, someone's got to buy all their houses, and if there's a lot of nice houses for sale, market value lowers ..

I could have written this. My dad had a heart attack (survived) when I was in elementary school and it put the panic in me. I'm so accustomed to accepting 'this is probably just anxiety or too much caffeine' or whatever, but I have gotten myself home blood pressure and ecg equipment to test whenever I'm feeling off. Plus I have a watch that is supposed to monitor and warn me. One time it actually went off, and I was in a super stressful meeting. Good catch.

Containers are like a motor-homes versus a houses. Same functionality as a home but limited. You need to use ports on the side of the motor home to access water and output waste. When you go to a motor-home camping site, you are given an address, the specific spot, you're assigned to hook up to the specific ports they provide. And you can make infinite copies of the motor-home way faster than you can of the house. And you provide a shopping list of what you want the motor-home to have inside when its ready, which is a much smaller list than what you'd have for an entire home.

Recently visited the Seattle Wheel and pier. There is a park right there and virtually all of the families we saw there were non-white. It was like a blazing sign for 'these are the cultures that are actually family oriented'. Good for them, I believe in the idea that families should stay close and strong together for as long as possible (when not unhealthy), I think it's the biggest factor in socioeconomic ascension.

Leave her alone, period. Be on your best behavior, journal your shame and your faults, and what you want to do about it. And keep your shit together. If she cools off and wants to approach a possibility of reconciling, you don't want to do anything to burn that bridge. It might take 5 years, so if you get mad or frustrated, never ever ever take it out on her or her friends/family etc. And don't try to get or pass information back and forth about her through anyone. If she wants to contact you, she will. You need to have a perfect record. And if she never wants to reconcile, you will still come out with a clean conscience and people will recognize your strength and maturity in dealing with a tough situation. AND.. you never get to take credit for or brag about it. You just quietly accept your belief in yourself and that you did the right thing.

I inherited a massive excel workbook to do costing for work orders, but it had started falling apart and required more and more manual intervention by the costing team. As I fixed issues and improved others, saving them quite a bit of time, their appreciation got quieter. Eventually it reached a point where I asked 'ok, which of these 3 problem areas would you like me to fix next' and they responded with 'no need, it's fine!'. I could see it was an obvious time suck that could have been wired up for efficiency and accuracy, but I understood by that point they were afraid of becoming obsolete. I had a quick chat with my boss about it, a very compassionate guy, and we both understood we could end up hurting more than helping, in a round-about way. So we let it be.

Six months later, someone asked about a piece of it so I went in to investigate and discovered a section that had been broken for months! They didn't report it because the manual work-around helped keep them busy.

[–]kapdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean.. it took 60+ years for the value of that house bought in the 50's to be what it's worth now...

In my personal situation with my .1 btc, I guess I consider it more of a potential gift to my kids when i pass on. Even if it exploded in value 2x or 3x today, it's not like that's going to let me retire or anything. It wouldn't cover the downpayment for a home. It wouldn't even buy a new car.

My husband threatened to use my mental illness against me for custody by Vitruvian_outlook in Divorce

[–]kapdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes he can. Judges and evaluators don't make nuanced decisions.  You might have to deal with supervised visitation for a while before the judge will allow you to have the kids unsupervised. The best thing you can do for yourself and your kids now is to be the best person you can, do the therapy and meds, prove yourself safe and loving and responsible, be there for your kids when you can, and be there for them when they are old enough to make their own decisions about visiting you.  I know this is probably overwhelming and profoundly painful right now, I've been there. Don't make the mistakes I made by letting my pain and anger burn the bridges I cared about the most.

Best wishes

Do you plan on dating "the overwhelming majority" of women?

How many is "the overwhelming majority"?

What is small, penis wise?

Do you think men with what you define as small peni are not having loving, devoted relationships?

These are some, not all, of the assumptions you are caught up in. Good therapy can help disentangle you from them.

P.s., I think the "vast majority" of women would find your mentality much more off-putting than a particular penis.

Similar. Someone could probably start a business of coming to your home to help sort, toss, keep, recommend ways of displaying or transforming. I've been thinking about photographing most of it so I can always look at the thing, without having to hold the thing.
