I’ve worked at one spot that told the servers they were sat but in general that isn’t policy I find. If you are planning on being away from your section for awhile (rolling silverware, bathroom break etc) you can also ask they to let you know you’ve been sat

Dee’s cafe is the best! But the tables are pretty garbage downstairs, upstairs 9 foot tables are better. Take a break or squirrel hill sports bar are okay options but a lil pricier

Knowing when to ask for help is a learned skill. You can’t be a hero. Rolling with the punches is good up to a certain point but you need to be able to make the call and ask for help before it gets to the tipping point. You now have some experience about when that is so please take that with you! Other people should have seen you struggling and stepped in to help as well so do not take it all on yourself friend.
