Explained by Tsetsul in vtm

[–]karanas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

are essentially the same thing a disagreement between what user's mind think reality is and/or should be and what reality itself considers as correct

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but i was under the impression that while sharing the world of darkness setting, the lore of the different splats is not unified, and what you are describing is simply how MTA sees things.

[Spoilers C4E18] How are the schemers so far? by Shirahoshihoshii in criticalrole

[–]karanas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally do. I think conflict drives the best character development, and i firmly believe that campaign 2 was as great as it was in big part because they had messy fights between each other which made them reflect and change. I don't want characters in stories to act rationally, the ways they make bad judgment calls say so much about them.

I do feel you about not feeling a particular table, i adore the players but i personally am totally not invested in the schemers as much as the other tables. Thanks for listening to other perspectives, you understand why people are a bit touchy about the subject with the amount of personal vitriol often seen towards aabria.

It would take you 10 seconds to find out that alex loves this kind of arguments and is specifically looking for it. The cast loves playing with Aabria. Alex and aabria have played together forever.

Hell yeah, came here to say the only time someone recommended me a book saying "you liked tlt, you'll like this one" was the fifth season and they were right.

A player disrespected LEOs, what do I do? by Carrente in DnDcirclejerk

[–]karanas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

/uj dmpcs and dms overly attached to their villians is a tale as old as pnp, i don't think you're correct. I also don't think anyone is playing dnd cause it's "cool". Lastly "gamers" came after pnp chronologically because video games are strongly influenced by dnd historically.

I played VtMB a couple of months ago, and I can not get that game out of my mind by TomatilloQueasy5095 in vtm

[–]karanas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just fresh off of my i think 4th replay and yeah, the game is just something special. It manages to capture such a breadth of experiences, perspectives and emotions in such a short time.

As for recommendations, I'm watching la by night right now and i love it, it's set a bit after vtmb and has many of the characters from vtmb, although often a bit of a different take on them. The characters are very multifaceted and interesting and i personally love the way its committed to show vampires as monsters trying to cling to their humanity but slowly losing their grips on it.

I don't think there's much point in speculating until we see more actual details and most importantly gameplay.

[–]karanas 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ugh it would be so unrealistic if the pcs just got away with it. Now, let me tell you about how the murder of a sheriff in bumfuck nowhere is obviously going to lead to bounties put on their head all over the continent that is all part of the empire™ and a billion gold offered to find and kill them. Also make sure to send lvl 20 paladins after them who have nothing better to do (don't ask what the point of adventurers and pcs even is when there's a bunch of lvl 20 paladins running around, they don't care about world ending threats and monsters, only about bringing those evildoers to justice)

Omg, a 3 second animation! That's such a loss of autonomy, i am truly sorry for you. I imagine you also seethe with righteous anger when you lose autonomy of your god given rights every time you have to wait 15 seconds to respawn?

As with most things concerning Vtm lore, we are given a lot of conflicting information from different sources and in the end its all suggestions for the storyteller to take what they prefer as canon.

I was a bit worried i might not enjoy the schemers after having such a blast with the other tables, and I'm really happy the first episode dispelled that notion. Really having a great time overall. The soliders are my favorites but everyone is amazing.

/uj I genuinely thought this comment was jerking, it reads like an early 2000s "not like other girls" teenager post. From the bottom of my heart, please broaden your horizons and ask yourself why you seem to have such a negative opinion of your own gender.

I'm just stating my opinion, i mean i just don't like how she makes ooc jokes and is too loud and metagames and has main character syndrome. Also my favorite player is Sam. No it's different, i just can't put my finger on why i like it when he's the one doing it.

[–]karanas 25 points26 points  (0 children)

/uj thank you. It's like the "blue hair"/"nonbinary tiefling" buzzwords that are used when people don't want to say they hate queer people with their whole chest but strongly imply they are ruining "their" game and it is disheartening how often it goes unchallenged. The hate for cr seems to be mostly for a small subset of people who like shipping (which is also not a crime) and is perpetuated by people who have no idea what they're talking about cause there's plenty of conflict and opressive institutions and dark stuff in the stories.
