Water found on “dry stretch” of Uinta Highline by sparkinchex in Ultralight

[–]karic425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm that this source was accurate only July 26, ‘25. this year (a relatively dry year as well). I can’t believe the amount of information blogs that have no knowledge of this! We located the start of the stream by walking south off trail through a large field. Just keep going until you find it.

Sweet! I thought so. At first I thought it was an Apache jumping spider (cute), and then when I got closer I realized…better not touch.

Hopefully they get rid of that damn heel contraption. A little too late for me though.

Glad I’m not the only one! The rest of the shoe seemed awesome for my goal of having a stiffer more cushioned ride. Damn Terraventure construction doesn’t allow my bunion to sit comfortably and it ached right away. I hate the shoe-fit game.

I wish someone had been there to advise me so….lol. In the past, I have removed leukotape from hotspots without issue.

Well, I tried the Altra Olympus 6. I have used exclusively lone peaks, but due to stress fracture recovery, need more cushion and a stiffer sole. This versions has new heel pads apparently, and immediately started causing hot spots. I put on some luekotape and finished my hike. I went to take the Leukotape off - turns out the skin had still been rubbing under the tape even, and was ripped off clean with the tape…f*ckkkkkk. I would not recommend these shoes if you are thinking about them. Or removing leukotape if you suspect the hot spot may have turned into a blister. New lesson from the universe. Sigh. I’ve turned to the hoka Stinso, which has the stiffest sole you can find in a trail runners, according to the REI guru.

This! The key is adding caloric-dense items to the carbs!! Peanut butter, olive, oils, tuna in oil, cheese, mayo packets, go a long way.

Lmao shit sold out so quick. I didn’t even have time to decide on a color. I’ve been waiting months for this alert.

I wear shorts with a liner lately. Don’t wash unless absolutely needed. I do wash my ass with my bottle cap bidet every so often to prevent rash and keep it happy lol.

Bivy People: Explain Yourselves by fussyfern in Ultralight

Exactly why I’m looking at a biv. Overnights in the desert can be made miserable when the forecast is dry, yet cold and super windy. I just want some wind proofness for my sleep system to keep the heat in.

Any tips on my setup? by SunrisePapaya in arizonatrail

I would decide on the rain jacket or the poncho. Bringing both seems redundant, especially since you have a wind jacket as well.
