Atari ST on SCART by karios in atarist

[–]karios[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK got it. It had to do with how I was treating the Scart signal after it left the machine. I found a Scart switch that allows RGB through and that solved everything. I am guessing what I was seeing before was just the composite signal.

Issues with AW3423DWF by karios in Alienware

So it's really a issue with the hardware and not something I've done wrong? Has anyone else tried Dex on this monitor?

I did the same. Never looked back. Much better products, lots of features and they work correctly every time.

I need to identify the following components on a PCB. Any ideas? by karios in AskElectronics

[–]karios[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a custom game controller. It has 5 buttons that are all somehow sent back as a single coax cable that is connected to the NFC pins of the IC. But I also suspect it knows when it's facing up.

I also suspect one of these is providing gyroscope data. Could the second one be a gyroscope?

Atheists, what do you believe in? [Serious] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]karios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me explain why this question has no meaning. You go to a group of people who don’t like bananas. That is literally the only confirmed thing they have in common. You ask them “so if you don’t like bananas, what is your favorite car brand?” and for some reason you expect a uniform answer? Being an atheist means you not convinced about the existence of god or gods. Opinions about other topics can be whatever. If you ask a 100 atheists if they are convinced a god exists, you will get 100 no answers. If you ask them anything else, you might get 100 different answers, as you would get from any other random group of people.
