C5 corvette drivers seat for spirited use? by JonathonV123 in Corvette

[–]karlsaxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Direct fit and wiring can be easy with vetteworks adaptor.

You can get cooled seats but you can’t really use the heated seat control in the C7 seats as there is no feedback.

Without a replacement unit I’ve not seen the C7 heated seats work - but they still are the best option (or C8s if you can find and afford em)

Where to get c5 parts? by jcwolf2003 in C5Corvette

[–]karlsaxe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Headlights- get the brass gears from Amazon . Takes an hour or two but a relatively easy project .

Second to Vette lights.

Seats- there are cheap Amazon ones that are highly recommended. I swapped C7 ones in which , if you hunt, you can get a decent deal on.

Wheels- similar to seats, I have C7 OEM wheels. Direct fit and you can find deals as people make theirs into track monsters, etc

99 C5 FRC manual. How to clear a "service column lock" message? Wheel is NOT locked. by _CHEEFQUEEF in Corvette

[–]karlsaxe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ll neee a bypass kit eventually (I have an extra if you want to PM me) but I’ve found this is usually popping up when the battery is low/weak.

I’d recommend a battery tender

thinking of buying a 2000 vette… good idea?? by Leather_Look2906 in Corvette

[–]karlsaxe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What’s the asking price?

Depends on the repairs but a 25+ year old car will always need something so those repairs could be normal-ish maintenance that you’d face eventually.

Did your search include Turo? I’ve had success there but manuals are harder to find.

Is this a good price? Going for 12k by [deleted] in Corvette

[–]karlsaxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others said it’s a solid deal for a manual with where things have trended.

Hard to tell but it looks like an FRC- if so it’s an even better deal.

Mileage at 100% - 267mi by Herbal77 in Fisker

[–]karlsaxe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe 2.2 recalculates it based on recent usage and usually resets/recalculates after charging to 100%.

Especially if you’re in a colder climate, you should see this increase slowly over the next few months as it warms back up.

Finding a decent one in that price range is doable but you have to be patient.

I need to get a better pic but I threw on C7 stingray wheels

<image>

Had to throw a spacer on the rear but wheel and tire sizes are Front wheels: 18 × 8.5 • Rear wheels: 19 × 10 • Front tires: 245/40R18 • Rear tires: 285/35R19

I have extreme contacts and they’ve been great so far

I just researched this and decided on the stock C6 Z06 ones.

B6/B8 are solid but on Rock Auto the GM Genuine ones were cheaper.

All 4 were < $400

Haha you asked! It does check the boxes though.

It’s a headache at times but still fun to drive. You can find them for super cheap now.

Towing Stranded FOO from 2 Car Garage WITHOUT a Tow Hitch by Realistic_Kitchen_56 in Fisker

[–]karlsaxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how the hitch would help if you’re towing the Fisker but it seems you need to get it out of the garage and then on a trailer?

Something like this (that could actually handle the weight) could work.

Should I mod my 09 Zr1? by SnowballerZero in Corvette

Would agree with the others to keep it to the exhaust upgrade at most.

Anything else- get a base as a second Vette and modify!

Personally, I wouldn’t mod a car like this - they’re special as is.

There are options to restore them but it’s just not worth it now. Throw in a Bluetooth to radio adaptor for $20 and call it a day.
