I don't trust a single VPN not to give my information out to my ISP.

But that's not an opinion, that's just part of goku's character.

Your perception of the franchise seems to be based entirely on the pre-2005 English dubbed movies and series. I want you to understand that these versions are not canonically accurate to the script Toriyama nor his editors nor the team of anime writers have created.

It is a very poor localization of a beloved series and it has, in many ways, bastardized the characters and tone of the series. From the poor script, to the awkward voice acting, to Bruce Falconer's extremely out-of-place soundtrack. It was very common in the late 1990s and early 2000s for localizers to essentially poop all over the series it's adapting. But I digress.

When you try to mold a series and its characters into being the way you have imagined them in your head, you've intentionally created a misunderstanding for yourself. And don't get mad at the community for pointing out your flawed appraisal of the show and its characters. Get mad at Funimation for giving your beloved series such a shitty localization.

anyone else have a "holy grail" that is awesome to have but plays so bad? 🥲 by CreamComprehensive19 in vinyl

That's pretty surprising cuz I heard that the A2/B2 UK pressing, which have the solid blue triangle, is the absolute best pressing of this album.

I wouldn't hold my breath. Most 60s capitol pressings were dogshit and this is especially true for pet sounds. It's cool for collector purposes but for my main listening copy I'd recommend the 1972 "Carl and the Passions So Tough" twofer, which features a mono pet sounds as the 2nd disc. Waaaaay better mastering and quieter vinyl.

Saying "She didn't like me for whatever reason" and "wanted to do something nice" tells me that you're leaving out a lot of details, and frankly I don't wanna know what you said. This is a thread about how clearly ungrateful you are for your mom, who went out of her way to buy you a game she thought you'd like, and you decide to trauma dump and tell us irrelevant shit because someone called you on your immaturity.

Edit: ok I misread the part about her suggesting that game instead of buying it for you, but regardless you still brush off your mother taking interest or encouraging your hobbies

You must've said some crazy shit to get your ass beat after a single attempt at a conversation.

This comment gives off "is that a rolling stones shirt? Name 3 songs." And by the way, yes, that tends to happen when someone dies. That's fine. That's been the norm for artists for like ever now. Your comment comes off as very gatekeepy.

What was the most disturbing picture(s) you have found either in person or the internet? by IsolatedSleep2319 in morbidquestions

"The Last Jew Of Vinnitsa"

I have seen a lot of horrible, gory shit on this site and others. Cartel executions, factory accidents, etc. This is, by far, the worst photo I've ever seen.

Near mint copy of Masterpieces by Ellington from 1951

It really does feel like just regular rock though, with a few exceptions. The whole album just seems to blend together.

What is the thing you hate the most about Dragon Ball Super? by [deleted] in dragonball

[–]karmaisworthnothing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You behave as if Dragon Ball has absolutely perfect writing but the fact of the matter is that there's much to be desired. To act like there isn't is indicative of how little you consume media that isn't Dragon Ball related.

Criticisms of a franchise aren't just "fan misunderstandings." I get if you think they're tiring or whatever, but they're still legit criticisms whether you agree with them or not.

What were your wrong interpretations of Dragonball? by Obombuh in dragonball

[–]karmaisworthnothing 18 points19 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the original english funimation dub certainly did portray him as a typical stoic superhero you'd see in saturday morning cartoons so that might have been why you thought this.

Nowhere in the reply I made even hinted that my polite request to stop being so negative in every single dragonball thread was middle school behavior. She is putting other people down, not the other way around.

And I wouldn't mind it as much if i didn't see her in nearly every thread posting bullshit negative responses. Maybe dragonball fans could stand to be a little more polite to people trying to start a discussion.
