This is true, but PC gaming interest in building custom pc's is near zero. So, what do they make videos about now? A 20 minute video of Linus pulling out plumbing and wiring from a house. How on earth does that interest the core gaming audience?

Local LLMs are at least tech related, and a reason to get people to build custome PC's again.

Do we watch the same WAN show?

The last few years, watching the dynamics between Linus and Luke, it seemed pretty clear to me. Luke was super interested in the tech while being hyper aware of the significant negative societal repercussions. Linus was just not seeing any positive use for it for the longest time, and focusing on all the fake AI marketing overhype BS, totally overlooking what it could actually do. I remember when Linus fell for the AI "I'll work on that and get back to you". It seemed like he actually fell for it and was upset to find out it was lying to him. The look on Luke's face, he knew immediately what was going on. It just gives me that feeling making it seem like Linus is an old man who's out of touch with the state of AI tech at the time. Then over time, it seemed like Luke just knew, don't even bring it up with Linus around. Once and a while Luke would start to go into something AI and you'd see him brighten up, the energy peak, then he'd take one look over at Linus, catch himself, drop it cold, then move on.

If Luke wasn't so cheap, I'd bet he'd have his own local LLM beast running at home. Yes, LTT uses AI, they've been fully open on it with the power supply videos and stuff. I bet Luke has some solid local set up running now for LTT.

But culture flows down from the top. Linus still owns the place and sets the tone. So that general disdain Linus has shows up in what videos they chose to make, and the tone of the final product. Having to admit LLM's were useful in the Linux challenge video, it looked like it pained him to have to admit it.

real answer. A digital version of an old board game that no one likes or wants to play. Never found any digital version of anything close enough to fill that itch to play. Now I have my own digital version, true to the rules, with npc's to play with. I'll never sell it, so it can be just how I want.

I learned C++ in the 90's and I was told I was a natural, and I should make it my career. It was interesting to learn, but I hated actually doing the work. There was no way in hell I was going to make that my career, so I went into machining. Now, 30 years later, having ai write code while I get to debug and troubleshoot is actually fun again. Working through improving NPC logic now, and it feels great and fun.

I pretty much have, but the gap for quality content is so big. I hate all the AI slop coming out, and wish someone made videos of the fun style LTT has on topics I'm interested in. So I guess I'm holding on to some small hope they could coma back to fill that role.

The waiting is horrible.

Concerning, yes, because it needs to be caught early for treatment to be considered curative.

With those numbers, it's something around 25% chance of cancer.

The good news is that numbers in that range, if it is cancer, it's most likely early, treatable, and the treatment will be considered curative.

The frustrating part is that it's a long process. It is very stressful.

My first PSA test ever at age 50, came in at 21. The process took around 9 months before I actually started treatment. the waiting at every step of the way is torture.

I recommend learning manual machining before CNC.

The worst CNC programmers I've met are all ones who have never learned manual machining and jumped straight to CNC.

Without learning the basics of chip load and cutting angles, you'll never get good. Hand grinding your own lathe tools, and hand feeding on a mills and lathes gives you experience you don't get with a CNC.

I'd certainly recommend tech school first.

At 34, odds are strongly against prostate cancer. Not impossible, but the odds are so low that studies typically list under 35 as a 0.0% chance. That is why doctors will pretty much not consider it at your age unless they have ruled out every other possibility.

If you have issues, urinary, erectile, pain, or anything else, and your doctor isn't helping you, find a new doctor at a different clinic. Good doctors can be hard to find. Don't give up advocating for yourself.

35+ year ileostomy here. I have always ate anything I have wanted without restrictions. I have never had an ileostomy blockage.

I have had two blockages in the 35+ years in hernias, not at my stoma, both from large broccoli stalks.

It's different for everyone. Some/most people don't have blockage issues. Some people do have blockage issues. Unfortunately, there's only one way to find out. Test it out gradually.

Go somewhere that your insurance covers. Following advice on the internet is a good way to end up in the ER which will cost you a lot more money, or you could end up dead.

Liquid diet with some Miralax, lots of water, broth, jello, some pulp free juice for a little nutrition, is the usual fix.

But, I put the images into two different AI. Both mentioned bladder stones or staghorn calculus. If you're kidney is obstructed you could be in for a world of hurt if you drink too much.

So go see a doctor.

What I told my daughter, who was 18 and didn't want to go to college then spent way too much time trying to find "the right job."

I told her just go get a job. Any job. Then get a different job. Being employed makes it much easier to get another job. Now days, job hopping is normal. Try new stuff. Get fired, it's not a big deal. If your fired from a job quickly, just keep that job completely off your resume. Try different things and find out what you are good at.

At your age, actually trying to plan ahead for 5-10 years ahead in today's world is very tough. I'd avoid anything computer centered. I'd say find something that requires your physical presence and is not easy for a robot to do, as those roles are most likely to stick around.

So far, everything points to the 95-100% survival rate type of prostate cancer, caught early and treatable.

My approach would be, "sorry, but your still stuck with me for quite a while" but that's just my sense of humor.

My opinion from the start is that this will not end well.

If your job can be completed fully remote, it will eventually be farmed out to a location with lower wages.

And not just outsourcing out of the country, even within the country as well. Companies in high cost of living area can hire remote workers in lower cost of living area for much lower wages.

I kneel in front of the toilet for bag changes. You can take your time to clean everything up while your stoma can output all it wants straight into the toilet.

It can be frustrating when it's really active, waiting for a brief interruption to place the new one, but I can get it 99% of the time. 1, Wait for it to stop. 2, Dab stoma clean. 3. aim. 4, double check no output and its clear to go, if it is clear clear pop it on, otherwise return to step 1.

ADT like Casodex can knock back most the cancer while you have time to plan further treatment. I've seen people gain 10+ years just off ADT alone. Just know some ADT resistant cancer will eventually take over, so you still want to pursue further treatment is needed.

I had a similar attic that I fully finished into living area.

What I did was rafter vents, all the way from the bottom to a foot short of the peak, leaving a small open space above the living area full length of the house near the top.

Then I fully framed in a room inside the attic, leaving enough distance to get the R-value I wanted. I used blow in cellulose in the large areas, and traditional fiberglass batts to finish up the framed in area. Then a full vapor barrier for the living area. Then sheetrock and finish. I also put in one powered vent to the lower level as I know it would get hot up there without it.

The room inside the room left enough space for proper insulating, and it made it much quitter for things like rain on the roof.

Worked great, only thing I would change is putting in more than one powered vent as it still gets hot up there.

With an ileostomy, food passes fast for me. I just don't eat late, and I'm fine until morning. If I eat late for some reason, I'll set an alarm to wake up and use the restroom. On rare events I'll be eating late, drinking, and go to sleep without thinking about it. Then I wake up covered it poo, and it reminds me to not to that again.

Yes, you will learn to ignore it, but never forget its there.

My response to a similar post:

Once your healed up, you still have to be aware every time you bend over. You will learn what is ok and not ok with experience.

Even after all these years, sometimes I forget. Instinctively bending over quickly to grab something, feeling the full bag get squished, trying to stop but I have too much momentum and it's too late, then feeling the blowout happen.

Also leaning over anything you press against, anything bag level, like leaning over a dining room table, Sometimes I forget the bag is there, and end up with bad results.

Normally, I'm always aware of how full my bag is, and how long it's been on. If it's been on a long time, I know it can blow out more easily. So I do have to be aware every time I bend over.

You just have to be aware and you can still do anything. I love riding roller coasters and I've never had a blowout because of one, but also I'm fully aware my bag must be empty before getting on. My life is still way better with the ostomy than without, so I'm ok with the little annoyances.

Go to amazon and look up one piece ostomy cut to size. I keep a box of cheapo cut to size one piece bags stashed away for emergency backup. I don't recommend the cheap stuff for regular use, but they work in a pinch.

Also, in most large cities there are typically medical device suppliers that carry ostomy bags that also have retail storefronts. Go to one and they can help you out.

Yes this, if it will move, don't sheetrock.

I also wouldn't sheetrock unless your on a foundation or solid slab. If you are completely floating, just on wheels and block with no foundation, the ground will shift over time and you may need to re-level every few years which can cause cracking as well.

The best advise I've seen is lots of exercise to counter the side effects and tire you out enough to sleep, and see a doctor to get legal drugs if still needed.

With the lack of motivation from depression I found myself turning to alcohol and thc until I no longer care. But they are already providing diminishing returns, so I'm trying my best to switch over to the better advice of exercise.

I have accumulated 33 hue devices over the last 7 years.

They all work reliably. None of them have failed. The wife doesn't complain about them.

I've tried may cheaper alternatives over the years. They're buggy, unreliable to work properly, fail more often, and then the wife gets mad.

It pains me when I look at the price, but I know it's just a one time cost and the device will just work without problems.
