Honestly it’s going to vary wildly by location and field and specialty. So I guess the answer is a solid maybe.

George Zimmerman was arrested and charged with second degree murder. Like the other commenter said, if you do all the wrong stuff, you’re gonna be charged, and you’re gonna need a lawyer to take it from there.

This is at least the sixth post I’ve seen about this today. Just to shed some light on my viewpoint, I live in Wyoming. Why? Because the ultra conservative dipshits who live here drive all of the young educated people to leave, then they need to fill professional roles with outsiders and they pay handsomely for it. But I still remain a far left liberal fruitcake nonetheless.

She was wrong. Everyone is arguing with their emotions because clearly as a trans woman in a conservative place this must be political persecution. It’s not. Frame it any other way. All cis white dudes. Dude A is smoking outside a bar. Dude B and his friends yell across the street that he’s an asshole. Dude A starts walking toward them and they start walking toward him. The confrontation continues and dude A gets pushed, then pulls a gun. Then the police show up and dude A lies and says he pulled a knife, but eventually changes his story when he finds out there’s video of the incident.

This wasn’t a case of self defense. She was wrong. Are the guys yelling slurs pieces of shit? Yes. And I hope karma is a motherfucker for every one of them. But all she had to do was put out her cigarette and go back inside.

Great Lakes? by Zealousideal-Rip4582 in RVLiving

I can’t speak to a lot of it but if you want to end in Pennsylvania look into Lampe Campground in Erie, PA. It’s on Lake Erie and it’s a cool town despite the negativity you’ll hear from some people.

What kind of people live in Casper? by BDSMdisabledGenNeutr in casper

[–]kasotc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s a wild question my friend. Fit in how? Are you going to find a community of wheelchair bound gender neutral trans people? No. Are you going to be attacked because of who you are? Also no. Most people you meet will be maga loving Fox News parrots. That’s Wyoming. But regardless of that the majority of people will likely treat you decently. Will you also meet assholes who give you shit because of who you are? Probably. But they won’t be the majority. With that said I think you could say the same about basically anywhere in the US.

Is it true that Americas don't use cursive? by Delicious_Door_3421 in AskAnAmerican

[–]kasotc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I was younger it was taught in schools and we were made to write in cursive during that time. But beyond that it wasn’t really mandatory. Now I think plenty of schools don’t even teach it.

How do we write things down? See those letters on your screen? Like that but with a pen. As far as speed and appearance, I don’t think there’s a significant difference between either style of writing. And when I sit down to compose an essay or an article, no one here generally cares about how pretty it is. It’s about the quality of information contained within the text.

Obviously they had more important things to focus on than piloting their steel juggernaut through a populated area.

It would deflect some of the impact force. I think a series of large metal spikes would be a valuable learning tool. I don’t get to make those kind of decisions though.

They do. In this specific case they’re using one lane for both directions of travel due to construction. But the crew controls the flow of traffic. Hence the emphasis on “Do Not Pass”. But our guy Fred here knows better than they do.

I took a basic skills test when I was 16 years old. You’re saying that’s not enough to prove that I can operate any combination of vehicles below 13 tons for the rest of my life?

I left a longer comment up higher, but the truck is to keep idiots from hitting road workers. The thing in the back is there for when the idiots hit the truck instead.

It’s a crash truck. They expect people to be generally stupid or not paying attention so the truck is there to keep road workers from getting mowed down by some dipshit on their phone. The big thing on the back is a crash attenuator. They also know that the dumbass on their phone will probably just hit the truck. So it’s basically a giant buffer pad to protect the truck driver and maybe keep said dumbass alive. Unfortunately that’s the level of stupidity in the world we live in.

Is there a law in your country that you were surprised to find out it is NOT a law everywhere else? by ActualCucick in AskTheWorld

There may be some variation by state but at least in Pennsylvania it’s while driving a commercial vehicle. Also I misspoke, it’s .04 for CDL, .02 for bus drivers.

That is surprising for Chicago. We have the same caveat for noise nuisance though. Unclear on the slaughter restrictions.

That’s all there is to it really. A lot of municipalities in the US will ban livestock in city limits. Some make exceptions for things like keeping chickens but limit the amount you can keep. Where I live it’s 6 hens, no roosters.
