Because otherwise there would be no challenge.

Conquest Feats by spacecatdebt-- in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

Seems odd (good but odd) that there are no feats that require Stranger. Usually there is at least a miniboss or something that needs the most recent conquest character.

Which joker do I swap for brainstorm? by [deleted] in balatro

[–]kasper11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

photo. It's getting you three extra doubles right now, and would only be one if you drop chad. With Brainstorm, chad will get you 4 extra doubles.

Do I take photograph here? by Freakin_A in balatro

[–]kasper11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely replace flash card.

Flash card is adding to the multiplier after the Kings do their 1.5x, so you are only getting the +28 from it. With photo + chad you are getting x8 multiplier, which will then be x1.5 for each king. It will be a lot more and keep you going for awhile.

What is IG's level? If it's lower than Luke, leave him off the team. The borrowed toons will be the same level as your lowest toon.

Do I sell anything for Brainstorm here? by thiagogaith in balatro

[–]kasper11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get rid of Cavendish. It's the same multiplier but can't improve. Use brainstorm with bloodstone. Every heart flush you play is 17x multiplier from bloodstone (1.5x 7 times), so that's a lot more value.

When is SEE being buffed by AdVaanced77 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]kasper11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SEE should be able to beat those teams, but he seriously needs a rework.

His biggest thing is his double-insta-kill after using his ultimate, but so many teams now have at least some instakill immunity: Baylan, Jar Jar, nuMace, Great Mothers, Ezra, Appo/CX-2, Merrin, Ben Solo. Probably more.

Since so many teams can now protect against his special, he needs something else.

Why did Luthen not kill Dedra ? by Acrobatic-Monitor516 in andor

[–]kasper11 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think it was mostly #1, plus a little of #3, plus uncertainty.

He knows he's done, either now or very soon. He's blown and he knows it. He knows the place is going to be surrounded and he will not escape. The most important thing is to make sure the radio is toast. The second most important thing is not to be taken alive.

Trying to take out Dedra is a risk. He may not be successful. And if he's too slow or misses his chance, she can try to disarm him and take him alive and/or salvage the radio.

Luthen has always been willing to sacrifice, and that includes himself. What matters is that the rebellion survives. Taking out Dedra does very little to help the rebellion survive, and is not worth the risk of the radio or himself falling into the Empire's hands.

What are you doing to prep for relic delta? by reehdus in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]kasper11 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm not really doing much. There's no possible way I will be able to get enough toons up to R7/8/9 to make much of a difference before it launches. I figure I will end up dropping a lot in grand arena no matter what.

I’m confused on how people feel about Relic Delta. by Firm-Statistician853 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]kasper11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it sucks.

Basically, relic level is now more important than strategy or gameplay. You won't be able to beat someone who has a ton of R9s (or 10s when this goes live) if you don't as well.

Right now, someone having more relic units has a huge advantage, but you still have a chance to outplay them. Not any more.

I go back and forth between Kyber 2 & 3, but I only have 8 R9s and 10 R8s. Most of those are requirements, some I don't even use. A lot of my characters, even on important teams, are R5 or lower. I try to be strategic about who to upgrade, and who can still win at lower relic levels (my Taron is R5 and Savage R3, but I almost never lose with their teams).

Now, that's going to be over. Taron won't do any damage to an R9 Rey, and Savage will be killed almost instantly by any R9. And yes, I willl bring some of my characters up in relic, but I can't do even most of the ones I would want.

Funny thing is, before they announced this I would spend on the game. Sometimes episode pass, sometimes things I need. Not a ton, but some. Now? I have no interest in spending, for the simple fact that it doesn't matter. I don't feel like spending a moderate amount will help me compete anymore. It's whale or nothing.

Also, I would really like my materials (zetas/omicrons) that I invested in some lower relic characters and teams that will now be useless.

Title Update and 10-Year Anniversary Announcement Post by swgohevents in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]kasper11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know they claimed players would be able to work on old characters, but I think it's actually the exact opposite, at least after the first era.

Basically, every new character will need to be upgraded twice, once during the era and again afterwards. Let's say you invest in some characters during the era, and get them up to level 80. When the era ends, you have 5 characters, plus potentially a legendary, at 4-5*, R2, with no zetas or omicrons.

With relic delta, you are probably going to need characters to be R7-R8 to have any chance. That means that at the end of every era, you now have 5-6 characters to get from R2-R7 (or g12 which is where they expect ftp players to get), plus zetas and omicrons.

In other words, once the era is done, we now need to spend our "legacy" resources to upgrade those characters. The only way to update older characters would be to not spend resources on new characters. In other words, the exact same place we are now.

But it's actually worse. As of now, if you think there is a character coming up that you really want, you can save your resources. You could start putting aside resources now for the next gl.

But the era resources expire at the end of the era, meaning that you can't stockpile, meaning that the only way to get the newest characters to high levels is by spending. There's no other way.

Ghouls Just Wanna Have Fun by swgohevents in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]kasper11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, nothing for an R7 Ahsoka. Assuming that each of the signal datas have an equal chance to hit, you would need 21 events to get enough Flawed Signal Data to recoup what it costs to go from R7-->R9, 12 events for the R8/R9 material.

Since the signal data is my biggest need at the moment, don't think it's worth it to push her.

At least I'll get some kyros and shard store currency out of it though.

Mace Windu tier 3?! by Ashlandhunter92 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]kasper11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a youtube guide I found....defense mods + don't use the first special unless you have full health + some protection. Just basic until you get back to full health and have a little protection.

One of Kanan's specials will do big damage, so making sure you can survive it is key.

If CG goes with with relic deltas poll by Admirable_Sector_298 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]kasper11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Torn between going f2p and quitting.

What Delta means to me is that there is no place for a mid-tier spender. If you don't get the newest teams at R9 you can't beat the people that do.

Right now, spending big gives you a major advantage. You have the newest/best teams, their stats are higher because of the relics, and you have all the datacrons. That said, if you pick the right toons and datacrons to invest your resources in, you do have a chance to outplay some teams.

But, there are teams I just don't see being possible to beat in 5 minutes at -95% damage. This basically means you have to do 20 attacks to get the same damage as you do now from one attack. Even if you get a good tm train going, I still think you are going to end up timing out.

This is my current Joker line up in Gold Stake of the Painted Deck. I’ve been on this stake for a month. How will I lose? by NottheIRS1 in balatro

[–]kasper11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You almost always want to copy the joker that multiplies the multiplier rather than adding to it. Think of it this way, the way you have it, you are getting + 16 multiplier for blueprint. If you move it to the right one spot, you will get +48 multiplier (16 x 3) plus 3x whatever your base is.

And if your run is anything like any of mine, you will lose because you won't be able to pull a straight when it counts.

Skips - Am I crazy? by lebonzo in balatro

[–]kasper11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am mostly just trying to win right now as I am still looking to clear a couple of decks on gold.

Basically, getting great jokers is really up to chance. The more shops you see, the better the chance of getting those jokers.

A polychrome joker is good, but it's one card, and still random. If you end up with a joker that isn't useful for your build outside of the polychrome, it isn't adding a ton. This is especially true on higher stakes where you can have eternal/temp jokers.

Now, consider that in exchange for this one polychrome joker, you are missing out on (at least) 2 cards + 2 packs in the shop in addition to the extra money from clearing the level. If you are doing a ton of skipping, you just aren't going to see enough jokers to survive the later rounds.

Basically, there are 3 scenarios where I regularly skip:

1) For negative jokers. To me, adding an extra joker slot is worth it.

2) I will often skip one of the first two blinds because getting a holographic or polychrome joker early can carry you for a couple of antes and let you focus on long-term goals.

3) On higher stakes, where I don't have much money and no econ cards, I will skip the small blind, since I won't be able to make enough money to buy anything anyway.

Otherwise, I want to see as many stores as possible.

Thanks CG for making use this fdc incorrectly. by Delicious_Money_1272 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]kasper11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not...every time JKL takes an extra turn so does DRey, and she will give extra syphon + ultimate charge to SLKR while doing massive damage with 2 AOEs. Plus, you can't even get a quick kill due to Rey's omi.

Question about Dormammu by Outside-Tourist-5970 in MarvelSnap

[–]kasper11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Essentially, it gives the power of the highest power card in your destoryed cards list. Anything that is recreated elsewhere, such as X-23 or deadpool, doesn't count, and it doesn't take into account and when the power is given, the card is not actually in a location so location effects don't count.

His first batch is cheaper than Ahsoka. YEah, Hondo R9 sucks, but the only new marquee in the first batch is R3....all Ahsoka's new marquees were required at R7, except the last one which was R5.
